I used this company for my som's wedding. I live in Chicago, and the wedding was in Malibu. Â I gave the owner, EV Cassidy, some ideas as to the theme of the wedding and color scheme; however we never saw drawings or tasted anything prior to the wedding day. Â I left it all to her expertise. Â The wedding cake and sweet table were absolutely beautiful! Â I never envisioned it looking so gorgeous. Â Even though I don't like pictures of sweets, it was a picture that was a "must take." Â Not only were the sweets and cake artistically displayed and enticing, they all tasted absolutely delicious and incredibly yummy. Â The guests were raving about it all night, and it was definitely a focal point of the wedding. Â I would not hesitate to use this company again. Â Their set up was organized, expeditious, and unobtrusive. Â EV Cassidy was a pleasure to deal with from start to finish and was professional and responsive. Â She knew the sweets that were the crowd pleasers and the exact number of each item to display on the table. Â I cannot rave enough about this company. Â Ev Cassidy is truly an expert in the industry of cakes, sweets and displays!!

Sweet Laurel Bakery is my new favorite coffee shop for grain-free, dairy-free, and gluten-free sweets! And, they have vegan lattes. I tried an iced vegan caramel latte and a regular sweet laurel latte. And, we had a slice of chocolate caramel cake. You will find about 8 different cakes, and you can order a slice or whole cake. All of the steamed milk drinks are made with almond milk. It's difficult to find allergy friendly refined sugar free cake slices and these are ADDICTING! You'll find street parking or valet parking within a block. The customer service is excellent. During my visit, they had two tables inside and two tables outside. They are worth the price, and the cake is comparable for the surrounding LA area. Very addicting!

Let me just say that I'm a bit put off that people reviewed this place before it even opened (today)! Amidst the multitude of new boutique-y "cupcakeries" opening around LA, it's nice to see that Vanilla Bake Shop offers other treats like cake slices and my all time favorite macarons. The 3 for $5 baby cupcakes are ADORABLE. I got the Vanilla Bean (excellent flavor, though a bit too spongy for my liking), Pumpkin (YUM tastes just like a carrot cake) and Red Velvet (dense chocolatey cake and the cream cheese icing has that sour tang to it). I also couldn't resist the lure of the Cosmopolitan cake, which was basically a rich brownie slice with white chocolate frosting. My only gripe would be that the joint is SMALL, and the couple tables they've got against the wall offer little more than a place to stash your wallet back into your purse.PS. The jar desserts are pricey but DELICIOUS!!
