Joe is a very kind and thoughtful dog trainer. My dog loves him, which makes me a little jealous. He is very creative in finding ways to capture the dogs attention, and to teach the dog various skills. He also is very clear in giving me instructions on how to work with the dog when he leaves. I especially like that he comes to my home. He is top rate!

My Maya Reese is my Service Animal 🦮 who is also deaf herself. She was my family pet before this Herculean task of training her was accepted by One Smart Pooch LLC. My condition would have required her and our other family dog to be removed from the home in order to properly train a new dog who’d be dedicated to assisting me with my needs. The time & energy invested in Maya & myself by this awesome trainer provided us with the ability to keep Maya in our home. Maya is such a different, well behaved and focused dog since being trained by One Smart Pooch. She provided me with the follow on tools and training to ensure a lifelong healthy service relationship with my Maya Reese. My next pet will surely be sent to One Smart Pooch for training and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for assistance in the dog training area.
Happy Handler of Maya Reese,

We have had several sessions with pawlistic training . We are training two aussies . We have a lot of work to go but have just began , we are seeing positive results so far. The trainer, Rein is very patient and kind . We have a lot of work to do as our two dogs have many many issues and their issues are worse when together, but in just a few sessions I am seeing progress with their behaviors and we are happy and confident this training is going in the right direction.

Our philosophy is positive reinforcement training. We support this method no matter the breed. This means no force training or aversive methods. This includes (choke collars, pinch/prong collars, e-collars that use shock punishment or physical punishments. We use reward based methods (praise, food-rewards, play, toys etc...) that teaches the dog that they get something good for the correct response which in turn will have them want to choose the correct behavior.

I’ve been using Under The Sun Doggie Daycare for almost a year now and I’ve been thoroughly impressed with how well the staff handles our dog Maple. Everyone is extremely nice, they work hard and keep the facility/grounds clean and offer an assortment of fun things to keep my dog entertained. Maple is always happy and excited to be dropped off during the day and I’ve never had any issues with her after picking her up after work. This is the only place I bring her now anymore, and I highly recommend Under The Sun to anyone else looking for daycare for their pup.

I want everyone to know just how wonderful you guys are. You two fostered a sweet bulldog puppy for me, and his new Momma and we are beyond happy with the care, and love you showed little Jim while in your care. He learned some leash manners, was started on potty training, and you were socializing him so well. I would recommend you to everyone who has a dog, and wants them to have the best care while they are away from them. Very trustworthy, and caring and loving, which is what I would look for in a dog walker, sitter. Thank you for caring so much for the dogs like you two do. Folks, please check them out you won't regret it I promise you.

Mutt Masters has been an excellent resource for me training my dogs. They have gone out of there way to offer me assistance when I have needed it. The ability to go to group classes closer to my home are very convenient as well as the one on one training. I have seen the other review and definitely have to say my experience has been nothing but positive after over a year of training. Not only has my dogs learned required skills I have learned many skills to be a better owner and how to shape and mold my dogs even in the worst situations.

In April, we adopted the most WONDERFUL dog from this rescue. They're diligent in ensuring the right dog goes to the right home. The wait times are lengthy on the required training classes before you get a full registration on your new pet. I had a serious issue in communicating with the office staff, but immediately was contactes by the director and he was able to rectify the situation quickly. The damage control was very much appreciated. My family finally feels complete.

My techniques are based on scientific behavioral methods that are proven to be effective; are positive reinforcement. Training dogs is communication, showing and telling your dog what you want rather than causing fear, pain or anxiety or punishing for what you don't want. It's a lot of fun and creates that take anywhere companion you long for!!!
I love watching dogs develop new skills, learning what pleases their humans ; I enjoy seeing the relationship blossom between owner and dog
I have always loved dog training and behavior.
In my Graduate work as a Therapist my thesis was a comparative study of how children learn vs how dogs learn. They are very similar.
I worked my way through college as a Vet Tech and Evaluator/Behavioral Counselor for dogs at the Humane Society. When I retired as a Therapist , I worked in the legal arena and was heavily involved in preventing Breed Specific Legislation and promoting compassionate care, health and welfare for all animals most especially dogs
I retired and started my Dog Training/Behavioral Business.
My methods are science based, effective, and positive. Dogs learn best, as do children, when there is no fear, anxiety or pain. I have over 27 years of experience working with dog behavior and have had great success in training dogs and working with problem behaviors.
I have taken my own dogs to a high level of obedience: AKC: CGS, CC and UC awards. We compete in and have recently attained our Rally Obedience Intermediate title and compete in high level Nosework ( scent work) (receiving our Intermediate level) and Therapy dog work.
I have trained and placed 15 successful Service Dog teams in Colorado Springs and the surrounding areas.
Yes I can and I do. I work remotely through zoom, Facebook, Skype and other online forums. I have clients in various parts of the country. My online/remote clients have been pleased with the results.
In this era of social distancing for health, there's one bright spot for us as dog lovers:
It’s okay to go outside !(Especially with your dog!)….According to Dr. Ruth Berggren, an infectious disease specialist at UT Health, San Antonio: You don’t need to stay cooped inside your house all day as long as you’re being smart and cautious. Wear a mask, observe the 6 foot rule, wash your hands often.
“It’s especially important during times like these that you stimulate your dog’s mind through training and play. It prevents a buildup of frustration and anxiety.” Your Dog Can Sense Your Emotions!!!
As long as you maintain at least six feet from another human (and remember to wash your hands!) … you’re going to be alright. Both you and your dog…your dog shouldn’t have to suffer because of this virus.
In case you’re wondering: Dogs can’t catch the coronavirus. Thankfully.
But even though your dog is safe, is there still a possibility that somebody (a dog trainer, for example?) carrying the coronavirus could touch your dog’s coat and then you later catch the virus when you pet your dog?
Not with our newly developed “COVID 19 Safe” dog training protocol. Here’s How You Can Still Get Your Dog Professionally Trained (Without Risking Contagion!) … Because Of Our Newly Developed “COVID 19 Safe” Dog Training Protocol!
I’ve been busy developing a safety protocol that allows you to have your dog professionally trained without putting you in jeopardy of catching the COVID 19 coronavirus. Our “COVID 19 Safe” Dog Training Protocol Means that we observe the 6-8 foot social distance rule, we can work out of doors or in a spacious area, we wear a mask at all times and sanitize or wash our hands often.
We are also able to conduct our training sessions via online sessions from the comfort and safety of your home.
