Nashville Nutrition & Weight Loss

Hi! I'm Megan Bishop - Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and owner of Nashville Nutrition & Weight Loss. I specialize in nutrition for weight management, diabetes and preventative nutrition. I'm in network with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna and Medicare, and many people have nutrition visits covered with no cost to them! I approach each person as the individual they are because the only thing we know for sure about nutrition is that no "diet" works for everyone! My goal is to help you figure out how to make food and nutrition work for you - in YOUR life, within YOUR preferences and to meet YOUR goals. Taking the leap to make changes in the way you eat can be scary because it impacts so many areas of our lives. The thing I hear most after a first appointment is, "I was really nervous about coming in, but that wasn't bad at all. I feel like I can do this!" When ready, please visit our website for more info, or to book an appointment or discovery call.

How important is a healthy diet to someone’s health and wellbeing?

Food is the fuel our body uses to all the amazing things it does for us on a daily basis - keeps our hearts beating, our lungs breathing and our brains thinking. The foods we choose to eat can help us to prevent diseases or may be the cause of worsening some. It's REALLY important to find healthy foods we enjoy eating so we don't feel like we're being punished by eating a certain way.

What do you love most about your job?

I love empowering people to improve their health and how they feel through self-chosen changes in nutrition! Getting to see the growth people make is great and very rewarding, but I also enjoy trouble shooting and problem solving when people feel stuck.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I worked for Vanderbilt for several years. I loved working with my patients there, but I didn't feel we were able to offer them the time and services they needed with a dietitian to make sustainable changes because of our patient load. I also learned more about health insurance and how many people do have access to nutrition visits for free. I wanted to be able to offer that opportunity to people who wanted it in our community.

Why should our clients choose you?

I'm honest, respectful, supportive and truly passionate about nutrition. I don't try to sell you programs or products with false promises, and will be straightforward about expectations. I am respectful of your wishes and never try to force people to eat in ways they don't want to. I want you to have a healthy relationship with food and eat in a way that makes you feel good while enjoying what you are eating.

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

Yes. I am currently licensed in Tennessee and Kentucky, so can see anyone in those states through my secure Telehealth platform. There are also other states that don't require dietitians to have a license, so if you're unsure, feel free to reach out and I can let you know if I'm allowed to work with you depending on your location.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?

I offer telehealth to anyone who feels more comfortable doing appointments that way. I have been vaccinated and follow all the CDC guidelines for those wishing to come in person.
