I recently had thumb joint replacement surgery and saw Meera for pre surgery and post surgery hypnotherapy sessions. The surgery was relatively pain-free. I required only one Tylenol every four hours, alternating with one Advil, every four hours for the first two days and was able to cut back to every six hours on the third day. I’ve required no further pain meds since day three post surgery.
My previous post surgery experience with thumb joint replacement surgery on my other hand required alternating 2 extra strength Tylenol every two hours with 2 Advil, every two hours and topped up with a prescription pain medication every 5 to 6 hours for the first four days. After that, I was on 1-2 Tylenol every 4-6 hours for a few more days and then as required for the pain for a couple more weeks
