I am lead security in the film industry. I have come across Hannah, Operations Manager at Honest Foods, twice in the last year. On both occasions, Hannah has refused to serve me lunch, telling me to come back when everybody else has been fed. What’s your signature dish?
The style of our food is colourful, flavourful and healthy. Think of the best street food you can imagine!
How do you go about creating the perfect menu for your clients?
We have a huge catalogue of seasonal recipes to start the job, then we work from your dietaries list (if any!). We check the weather at the time of your event and then start creating something bespoke for you and your team.
What do you love most about your job?
We are a passionate and motivated bunch so brainstorming for new jobs is always fun!
What inspired you to start your own business?
I (Leon Rothera) was named after my great grandad Leon who was a chef and baker. The bakery remains in our family in the French countryside. I was then brought up in a cottage on the side of a hill, eating homemade bread and goats cheese made by my mum. I only ever wanted to cook for people for a living. Honest Foods began life as a whole food cafe in Brixton in 2006 and has evolved steadily ever since.

We are always innovating and finding new ways to get the tastiest food to our clients. Whether thats working on our ferments and preserves. Home smoking joints of meat. Slow cooking overnight. Sprouting beans and lentils. Dreaming up new desserts in the pastry section. We love what we do.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
We were back to work. serving up to 1000 meals per day just 3 months after the first lockdown as our Film and TV clients were some of the only people allowed back to work so quickly. Our COVID policy was handed about the Film and TV industry as the benchmark for what was expected.
Corporate Events
We can set up hot or cold offerings or your team. Wonderful colouful buffets, canapé parties and sit down dinners. We have the facilities to bring in hot food from our base on the edge of the city if you don't have a kitchen.
Barbecues
We do all of our barbecue cooking on the Big Green Egg and use traditional deep-south methods for slow cooking and smoking.
These can be cooked offsite and brought in hot or chilled down as a gorgeous cold buffet for your team.
Film and TV Catering
We have been one of the most well known caterers in Film and TV for over 15 years and come equipped with various size food trucks. From our 18 ton super truck down to smaller 24 foot trailers, walk-in fridge trailers and electric vans. We are a registered Albert Supplier too!
Hot Boxing
For those in the world of Film and TV this is a well known term - for others you may confuse it with something less wholesome!
This service can be used for any size group of people where there isn't a kitchen space available. We can bring in hot pre-boxed meals for between 20 and 500 people. Or the food can be brought in and served from bains marie on site. We make all of our deliveries in electric vans and only use compostable and recyclable disposables.
Feeding Your Workforce
Do you want to treat your team every Friday or every day of the week. We can facilitate this in multiple ways; bring hot food in and serve from a corner of your office or we can use your kitchen space if you have one. We are experts in serving from awkward locations, and our food is to die for!
