4* restaurant...Really good food, nice service as we bother to change french fries with the amazing gratin dauphinois. Service very opened, smiley and happy to help you.Great place to have a nice dinner.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Slight problem at check in but the Duty Manager sorted it out in minutes and went out his way to make sure all was ok. Had a near perfect stay with my wife, when we were there for a spa break and over night stay. On arrival, we received a warm and friendly welcome and checking in was easy and hassle free. The lady behind the desk explained everything about our stay clearly and answered our questions. Our room was on the first floor, and access to the upper floors are via stairs or lift. The room was clean and had all the facilities you would expect, tea/coffee facilities, iron, hair dryer etc. Our dinner was excellent. The choices were varied and there was much more of a selection in the starter and main menu's than I was expecting. However, the dessert selection was a little poor, as there was a choice of 5 desserts (not counting the ice cream and cheese board) and 3 of them contained nuts. Not great if, like us, you dont like nuts. The staff were excellent and very very friendly; a credit to the hotel. Breakfast is a buffet, but there is so much choice from the hot buffet, along with cereals, breads, yoghurt, etc, you could eat there all morning!! The spa is located in another building outside the hotels main building and has a pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room as well as a gym. There is also treatments available but these were fully booked when we were there, or so we were told, however, we didnt see anyone using these. Regrettably, our stay ended on a slightly sour note. We had a late check out of 2pm, but at around 11:15am we recieved a knock on our door from housekeeping asking if we were checking out. Surely housekeeping would know a) when a room has been cleared for cleaning, and b) when people are checking out? The worst part was when we were checking out and was told there was a charge of £10 from the resturant which we had no idea about. This was, we were told, for the water we had with our meal. Yes, water! We were charged for water. The lady behind the desk (different from the one we had when checking in) explained that still and sparkling water was charged but tap was free. This was not explained to us and we were also not offered tap water. When I said this, the lady behind the desk became very abrut and forwent the usual pleasantries when someone checks out. So much so my wife actually had to ask her if she wanted the keys back! Not a nice way to end our otherwise good stay. More...

I’ve had a lovely day spent with my mum. Treatments were brilliant and so was our Bento Box lunch. However, the whole Spa felt deserted and in desperate need of updating. They are presently changing things slowly, but it all looks awful at the moment. They didn’t have decaf coffee or sweeteners, and made a bit of a fuss about getting it for us. They also couldn’t give us change to enable us leave the therapists a tip. We were also very sorry to see that the relaxation room is no longer a thing. This is something that we used to love using and was an excellent addition to the treatments. Still had a lovely day as I spent it with my mum, but there were just a few things that could if and should of been better. More...

Five Stars Myself and my wife are currently staying in this wonderful hotel. The location was chosen by my wife as she had never been to Scotland and wanted to get away for her birthday. The staff so far have been fabulous, nothing is ever too much to ask. They are attentive but not in your face, pleasant and jovial. If I had to name one member of staff who has gone the extra mile I would say the bar manager. Always chatty, smiling and nothing is too much. The food in the restaurant is out if this world, everything I have had has been cooked to perfection. We have had a couple of treatments in the spa, and going again tomorrow for my wife’s birthday present, a two hour pamper session. So too sum up so far, this has been a great break in beautiful surroundings with wonderful staff, we have been made to feel special. More...

What a beautiful hotel, set in lovely grounds, fantastic decor and wonderful staff. Cannot reccomend this hotel enough, from start to finish it has been brilliant. Efficient check in, friendly service at the hotel bar by the bar manager (Josh I think) who could not do enough for us - worth his weight in gold!!! Afternoon tea in the whisky bar was devine, our evening meal was stunning and our breakfast was one of the best I've ever had. Fresh produce in all meals, expertly cooked and not an inch of grease in sight!! Our room was wonderful, comfortable bed, clean, beautiful view and very relaxing. We were given a voucher for a sunday carbery lunch and although our voucher was only for a carvery they no longer do that and substituted with a 3 course meal which we had In the hotel bar The food was delicious, an absoloutely lovely atmosphere and very good service we would most definitely recommend

Could not fault the hotel, it's staff, the food or the accommodation. First visit to the hotel and were not disappointed. Stunning 18th century building, obviously extended, set in beautiful grounds. This will not be the last visit.

Comfortable rooms, fantastic comfortable, huge bed, bottle of wine on arrival, espresso coffee machine, clean, modern bathroom. Service could have been a little quicker. Wide selection of food for breakfast, breakfast was plentiful and despite the many guests the hotel staff remained on top adding more cooked food, fruit etc. Large pool in the spa area.
