About

After my first job — US Army EOD or bomb-disposal officer — university teaching and utility regulating seemed less exciting. Then I discovered litigation accounting and Canada Revenue. I’ve practised full-time since 1988. I earned my MA in Economics at the University of Oregon in 1968, I qualified as a Certified Management Accountant or CMA in the US in 1983, and I qualified as a Certified General Accountant or CGA in 1986 — now Chartered Professional Accountant or CPA.

I apply my expertise in accounting and economics to resolving your problems. As in ww.teasley.ca, I've appeared as an expert witness in the Supreme Court of BC regularly as well as in the Tax Court of Canada. I'll represent you in any questions, amendments, or disputes with Canada Revenue.

I especially enjoy unincorporated self-employed businesses, professionals, and trades — I've been one since 1980.

I charge $160 per hour plus GST. A typical T1 return with, say, employment and investment income, charitable and political donations, and medical or moving expenses that you’ve tabulated takes around 1 ~ 3 hours or $160 ~ $480 plus GST. My fees are deductible.

Now the fine print — As a CPA, I maintain strict professional confidentiality, and BCCPA reviews a sample of my returns. To prepare and Efile your tax returns, I'll need you to sign a standard engagement letter and to help me get registered as your representative with the Canada Revenue Agency or CRA.

Before I Efile your return, I'll send you its final draft as well as a form T183 “Information Return for Electronic Filing of an Individual's Income Tax and Benefit Return,” which attests the accuracy of the return. I'll ask you to sign the form and scan it back.

After filing your return, I'll ask you to sign a standard representation letter and scan it back.
