I will try to keep this short enough to not bore you, but at the same time will give you very honest feedback. Plain and simple - this is the best dog training facility in the city, hands down. Read on to hear our story. On May 18, 2020 we had an in home incident w our younger 3 year old shepard, Logan. I will keep the specifics of this incident private for now. After the incident unraveled, we found ourselves in shock that it happened, and thoughts of the possibility that Logan would no longer be a part of our family. We were scared, and devastated at the same time. But we had to protect our family and do what was best for us, as well as our dog. We had a great 24-48 hour cooling period (highly recommended) to reflect what the future may look like and were then referred to Maegan from close friends of ours, one who is a Veterinarian. They had given her a heads up that we were going to reach out, filled her in on what happened and we set a time to chat w Maegan. This conversation changed everything for us. Maegan gave us hope that Logan could be broken from old habits, trained and ready to go with their 2 week board and train program. In fact she guaranteed it. It was sad to see him leave our home for 2 weeks, but the change in him was evident throughout the weeks he was gone. We received updates from Danielle every. single. day. It was so awesome to see him progress and learn new commands and work towards being the good boy he really is! We missed him dearly, but it was a much needed step in the right direction. Danielle was amazing with him and he came out a completely different dog. Here's some things to consider if you have a dog w aggression towards other humans/dogs, pulls on the leash, doesn't listen to commands, and/or has food aggression: -be honest with yourself and your daily habits, but most importantly be honest with Maegan and Danielle on what's ACTUALLY going on. -dogs (ours specifically) were humanized and this was a problem. They are family, but are still dogs, not humans. -you don't have to be in a situation where you need to choose between your dog or your family (kids or adults). Training the dog, then the family, changes the relationship between EVERYONE. -be committed to the changes, practice them daily and dont ever go back to old habits. This isn't a 2 week program, and then the work is over. You need to be committed to continuing on with what they show you. The reason this incident happened was because of US, not the dog. They only know what they're being told or not told and if those lines are blurred, sh*t can happen fast. I cannot recommend the team at FC K9 enough. We are MORE THAN PLEASED with the work they have done with our Logan. I am happy to report he is home, safe, and the best good boy we could have ever asked for! THANK YOU AGAIN Maegan & Danielle! Maegan, Danielle, and Alex have been absolutely incredible to deal with the past year while I was searching for the "right" dog for public service work. They are amazing trainers who have taught me a great deal about dog manners and handler etiquette; they are always available to help if you have questions or concerns. When the first dog I adopted didn't mesh with the other pets in the household (no fault of the dog - my cat just refused to tolerate a new addition) they came over to my place immediately to try to help the situation. Ultimately we decided it was not a perfect match for our existing "pack", but the FC team continued to update me regularly with new dogs coming in that they thought would be a great match - and we have since found the perfect one! We are so grateful for their patience, assistance and knowledge through this process, and we could not be happier with our new dog who has integrated into our family with our existing cat and dog so well. The fact that she is fully trained was just the cherry on top :) Thanks so much to this incredible team; I recommend FC as the number one rescue in Saskatoon for ANYONE who is looking to add a new dog to their family! wow ...i give 5/5 stars . the trainers are amazing. they not only taught and helped out with our pup but they also taught us. our pup was starting to become more aggressive and we didn't know how to break that. not only did they break the aggression they made our pup so obedient and we can't thank them enough. if you are ever worried about the money believe me when i say its worth it. we couldn't have asked for a better set of people to train our girl! thank you so much ! i could go on and on with the amazing work they did but i will just say if you ever need help with your pet these are the people i would call on. Highly recommended! We adopted our beautiful Layla in August of 2019 and are completely in love with her! She came fully vaccinated, microchipped, spayed and trained basic obedience skills. She loves other dogs, cats and people! She is an absolutely incredible dog! Thank you FC K9 Training and Rehabillitation for giving Layla a second chance at life and for training her to be such a good girl! We are so thankful to have her and would recommend FC K9 Training and Rehabillitation to anyone interested in adding a new fur baby to their family! ❤️ ❤️ More...
