Would 100% recommend Horizons. Liz's kind and caring nature combined with her fantastic support has been so helpful. A huge help to combat my anxiety on returning to university this September.

Services

This type of counselling is preferred by many people for its gentle non directive approach. The sessions are centered around the client and what issues they want to explore at that time. I also encourage mindfulness and exploring coping techniques that you may find useful outside of sessions.

Facing the death of a much loved child is almost too much to bear. It can feel a lonely place as others around you deal with their own grief. I have a lot of experience in grief counselling and I previously volunteered for the charity Charlie’s Angels centre helping parents come to terms with their bereavement. I can offer you space to grieve and make sense of your loss and move you to a place of acceptance.

When someone dies it is life changing for those that are left behind. The loss of a loved one can be the most difficult to come to terms with. Often, there are other emotions involved such as anger and guilt which are hard to process. I give people who are grieving a safe space to bring their emotions. I can help you make sense of your loss and as you move forward help you carry their memory in a manageable way

Prior to training as a counsellor I was a Paramedic. I understand how traumatic the work can be and how it impacts on you as a person. The chamaraderie and support of colleagues who understand cannot be underestimated but sometimes you need more.
I can help you make sense of your thoughts and feelings and support you whilst you continue in the profession you love
