I experienced Tom as a fitness coach for 2 years at Old Loughtonians Hockey Club. His methods were motivational as well as challenging.
He made sure all individuals abilities were adapted to, to make sure everyone was pushed to their limit. I have fond memories of the fitness sessions and saw a great improvement in my physical ability as well as others.

Tom is a great helped me to shift 10kg in 12weeks just as he said he would. I’m 46 years old. The last sporting activity I participated in was before the birth of my 12 year old daughter. I would walk occasionally but that pretty much was it. I came across Chigwell Personal Training on Face Book by chance and clicked on the link because an old university friend of mine was in one of the pictures posted on the site. Hell why not I thought so arranged a consultation with Tom who’s enthusiasm and positivity was such that I signed up right there and then. That was five months ago and boy have things changed in that time. So what’s changed in that time? • I feel less lethargic and more energetic. • I’m eating more healthily. • I’m drinking less alcohol. • I feel stronger. • My body shape has become more toned. • My posture is so much better. • I’ve started running. • I’ve started doing more sporty activities with my children. • Oh and I have lost 5kg. In a nutshell I feel happier and healthier, although I still cannot skip! The training Thomas puts you through is tailored around your personal goals regardless of whether you are in a one on one session or with a group of others. Each session is always great fun, sometimes a little bit tough but that’s what makes each session so rewarding. Oh and if you are worried about ‘group’ sessions (like I did) … don’t. Very knowledgeable, personable and committed to delivering the best for his clients, Tom is an excellent personal trainer and has in depth knowledge of exercises to ensure they are appropriate and deliver results. Forget dry January or joining a gym that you’ll only go to for 3 weeks before sobbing back to the sofa. This group makes the difference. You will train in very small groups of super supportive people. There are no egos, no showing off, everyone encourages each other. It’s not repetitive either so never gets boring. Firstly let me start by saying I dislike the gym, running and pretty much any form of exercise!! I had a baby 5 months ago and decided,(as that would be my last) to sort my life out. ..I contacted Tom and he was more then willing to take me on and help me out. In the last 2 months that I have been training with Tom everything has improved, my stamina is much better i now complete my warm up with energy left for my session, I'm building muscle mass and I'm losing inches!! Bonus. The sessions are very varied and I never get bored. Tom takes his time out to explain things, and prepare each sessions to help me achieve my goals. I can now say that I'm starting to feel the running bug and enjoy my sessions with Tom and how I feel at the end. After two years of chronic knee pain caused by over-enthusiastic kung-fu practice while decidedly overweight, Tom immediately recognised the problems and gave me specific, highly focused exercises that fixed the knee pain in two weeks. I can now bound up the stairs two at a time. Two years of wasted time and money on deep-tissue massage and supports fixed with some very clever but simple exercises. Kudos to Tom: he really knows his stuff. I'm really impressed with Tom's skills and knowledge, and also by the gentle, kind way he manages to encourage me to my limits. I joined Thomas with two other members of the Mudda Fudders OCR Team. I had no real Goals except to improve my distance running a bit. After my first training run, Tom told me what he could do to improve my performance........HE DELIVERED. I never would have believed that I could run 6km without stopping. I am very good at making excuses as to why I cant or wont do exercise. Tom is very good at convincing you otherwise. I have knee injury which Tom specifically researched and devised a unique training program that worked around my injury and helped build muscle around the injury to compensate, which eventually opened up more exercises for me to work with. How do you help your clients achieve their fitness goals?
It starts with a full assessment. To understand the clients lifestyle, current capabilities and demands on them.
From here, the client and I will agree goals, milestones and how we will track their progress. We will start with exercises based on their current fitness level, nutritional guidance and behaviour change coaching to improve their habits for long lasting and sustainable change.
What’s the secret to getting the body of your dreams?
Realising there is no secret. It’s about finding harmony in your life. People who get fit and stay fit are the ones who can find a way to fall in love with what they do.
The goal for all my clients to improve by 1% every day, then stick to it. Small changes, tiny improvements in daily living create massive results in the long term.
What do you love most about your job?
The moment when everything starts to click for the client. They start to understand what to do, realise they don’t have to sacrifice the things they love and enjoy the new lifestyle they built.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I was my first client. Being the fat kid in an athletic family, having low self esteem and even experiencing anorexia, something had to change.
I kept wishing someone would come along and do it for me. It took years before I realised you can’t make your health someone else’s responsibility, you have to become the hero of your own life.
Once I saw what exercise, nutrition could do for me, I wanted to help other people experience the same thing.
Why should our clients choose you?
If you’re looking for extreme workouts where exercises are barked at you, and you judge the quality of a session by how much you sweat or how breathless you are, then this is not for you.
If you want to make lasting change, and want to feel your body working in a safe, effective and guided way whilst building a better relationship with food and improving your habits, then you won’t find anyone more committed to helping you succeed.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
Full clean and wipe down after every session using anti-bacterial wipes and spray. Hand sanitizer is available for all clients upon arrival and during sessions.
