How do you help your clients achieve their fitness goals?
No matter how big, or how small the fitness goal I take them all personally. I would never take on a client I know I couldn't help. Everyone has different goals, and more commonly we all have 3 or 4 goals in mind. Common example: Lose weight and tone.
In this situation, we would focus on losing weight on one end of the spectrum. We would attack this side with Interval training in 3 different heart rate zones (scientifically proven to burn more fat) as well as tweaking macros and calories to ensure we are in a caloric deficit. While bringing in the interval training we focus on compound movements with the muscle groups we are most interested in toning. So, in essence, we are attacking at both ends, in hopes to meet in the middle.... the goal.
What’s the secret to getting the body of your dreams?
Work, motivation, dedication, and knowledge. Ferris Fitness brings the knowledge and shortcuts backed by science to keep exercise as efficient as possible. However, if you do not have the work ethic, the motivation, or the drive to see it through, there is nothing we can do. I do everything in my power to keep my clients motivated with challenges, incentives, and more, but it just truly comes down to if you want it or not.
What do you love most about your job?
I love hearing everyone's stories. We all have a story and through several steps, we have been brought together. I make it a priority to learn as much about my clients as possible and make Ferris Fitness a community. We just had our First Holiday Party in December, with many more parties to come. I am happy to say that I am friends with a lot of my clients, as well as being their trainers.
Another love of mine is being able to help someone hit their goal. When we finally see that number on the scale or hit that PR on the bench press; I think I feel near the same excitement my clients do. because of the amount of work we have put in to be there.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I worked for Marriott for 10 years. Towards my last year at Marriott, I was really getting into fitness and decided to go to the National Academy of Sports Medicine to become a Certified Personal Trainer. I passed my exam on December, 20th 2019 (Which was my birthday). A couple of months later COVID hit, and I got laid off from Marriott. I was heartbroken and didn't know where to turn. I filled myself with busy work and went back to get my Corrective Exercise Specialization. I picked up a couple of clients but still was not actively pursuing a career in the fitness industry. I then decided that this all happened for a reason, and I launched Ferris Fitness in January 2021 and haven't looked back.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
With all of Ferris Fitness In-Person training, I take every precaution possible to ensure the cleanliness of my facility. I sanitize equipment between every session, and also as we use it. I do not mandate masks, but I will wear my mask as requested. I also allow times for multiple breaks to step outside and get some fresh air.
I am extremely easy to work with and will do everything in my power to accommodate any in-person client.
