We’ve been working with Tamara for several months through couples counseling. She’s been an invaluable counselor to us! She’s helped us refine our communication skills and rebuild emotional intimacy. We were feeling stuck trying to reconcile on our own and she’s given us the boost we needed to establish healthier communication habits and tackle topics we were afraid of and/or unaware we needed to address. At times she’s helped translate each other’s comments when their intended meaning have been lost in conversation. She’s very responsive and personable. We would not have made the progress we’ve made this year without her! Couples counseling felt daunting at first and she’s made it a productive, valuable tool to rebuilding our marriage. More...

It is very beneficial to work with Mending Hearts..
I am learning the skills necessary to mend not only my heart but my mind and I’m also learning how to be present to actually be able to use those new skills.
The therapist is practical and listens very well so she can support you on your journey. I am healing and growing and she takes time to celebrate that and make sure I practice embracing my “newness” myself. It is a great place to receive therapy and self-help services.

I love working with my therapist TaMara. She is always able to sense when more is going on than what you’re saying. I would recommend her for individual, couple, or even family therapy.

I have been so grateful for the presence of Tamara in my life. Her skill as an experienced clinician is as valuable as her ability to be a trusted spiritual ally in my journey of making sense of the difficulties in my life. I especially love that she is so at ease in her role, which indicates that she is doing what she was made to do, and knowing that about someone makes it so much easier for me to trust the process. I highly recommend her services, and actually do to all my friends who I think might be seeking this kind of support! More...
What do you love most about your job?
TaMara pursues a therapeutic framework that supports setting goals and strategies for productive therapeutic work. She enjoys counseling individuals, couples, and families. She is committed to compassionately working with clients who may experience depression, anxiety, mood disorders, marital and relational issues, and difficult family dynamics. TaMara also helps clients who need assistance in life coaching, communication, and conflict resolution. I create a safe haven that encompasses transparency, non-judgment, and acceptance, while empowering you to achieve goals with desirable results.
What inspired you to start your own business?
As a former owner of a home healthcare company that primarily provided services to the elderly, TaMara found herself assisting families, particularly adult children, who had to make tough healthcare and financial decisions for their parent(s). She helped families establish goals on how best to support their parents in maintaining dignity and independence while simultaneously identifying the next steps in the event of their parents’ passing. While families had to come to terms with the physical, mental, and/or psychological changes seen in their parents, taking on the parental role was quite emotionally challenging for adult children. TaMara supported the entire family in managing these delicate issues.
While supporting clients in a work environment, TaMara was also a member of a leadership team of a Marriage Ministry in a non-profit organization in PA. Couple workshops were offered to provide a platform for couples to share their experiences and find solutions to their personal challenges. The primary issues that were addressed were divorce, finance, communication, sex, and in-laws.
Why should our clients choose you?
TaMara specializes in Marriage, Family, and Couple’s Therapy to create a platform of transparency and acceptance, and an environment in which concerns can be explored, understood, and resolved. TaMara works from a family systems framework with a solutions-based focus utilizing proven, evidence-based practices that help individuals and couples achieve tangible results. TaMara works with individuals, couples, and families in the areas of relationship/family dynamics, depression, anxiety, trauma, and other mental health issues. TaMara has also helped individuals with all types of challenges from death, abandonment, fairness in the household, roles and responsibilities, emotional stability and geographical relocation.
