Great place to eat. Perhaps the only Afghan restaurant in Sioux Falls. Loved it all. The rice was fantastic and the spices were on point. Great small local business that makes Sioux Falls a good place to live and eat. More...

I am new to town having relocated from the food desert that is Billings, MT and while I have not had access to this type of food in several years in Billings, I am well traveled, including some time in the Middle East courtesy of Uncle Sam's Canoe Club and I know a fair bit about the cuisine. What I found today at Khorasan Kabob House was a humble family making some fairly humble food but with care and love. I had the stuffed grape leaves with meat and they were some of the best I've ever had. Clearly hand rolled and served with a housemade yogurt that I could have easily eaten on its own. They were served with what they call chutney but to me was more like a thin salsa verde. It is apparently made with green tomatoes, cilantro, mint, some type of chili and lime juice. I'm sure there is a bit more to it but that's the main ingredients and it doesn't matter, the stuff is outstanding! I tried it on the dolmas first and then added it to my main course and it just brought already great food to a higher level of flavor. For my main I had the Combo Kabob which was one skewer each of lamb and chicken, both apparently marinated and then grilled. The chicken apparently had a fair amount of turmeric in the marinade as it had an inviting yellow color to it and both skewers were served atop a heaping portion of some really nice basmati rice. It was also served with a salad on the plate consisting of iceberg lettuce and shredded cabbage along with several slices of roma tomatoe and cucumber. The dressing was excellent and reminded me of the Ken's Steakhouse Vidalia Onion Dressing. I also had a terrific piece of garlic naan to go with my dinner and finished it off with a hot cup of milk chai and a slice of bakalava. The milk chai was made from scratch and takes several minutes to prepare so be aware of this when ordering it. The baklava was probably not made in house but regardless, it was a really nice piece with pecans, a nut I've not often seen in it but a welcome respite from the typical almonds, walnuts or pistachios more commonly found in it. It was also fairly heavily spiced with ground cinnamon and was just a really nice accompaniment to the chai and an overall perfect end to an altogether excellent meal. This will definitely be on the top of my list of favorite restaurants here in Sioux Falls and I can't wait until me next visit when I can try another item on the menu. This is a local business run by a small family and they are putting their heart and soul into this wonderful food. Do yourself a favor and give them a visit. You won't be dissapointed. Oh, and go hungry. They don't skimp on the portions and the prices are pretty well on point for the quality as well as quantity of food. The only reason I didn't give them a full 5 stars is because the lady server wasn't quite as attentive as she should have been and I had to get up and go ask for a couple of things, but on the other hand, I didn't mind being left alone to enjoy the food either so they still deserve very high marks. Great pace. Go see for yourself.Just a quick reply to the response from the owner...First, thank you for responding to me personally. I love that you are able to do that. I just want to say again that I had a wonderful meal and will be returning to try several of the many options you have available on your menu. I appreciate you clarifying the baklava question for me. I assumed it was not made in house since you told me the ice cream is not and for that I apologize. I was wondering about it as I was eating it because it was so good and now I know for sure. As for the service, please understand that it was not intended as a criticism but merely an observation. I actually appreciated that I was given the opportunity to eat without interruption but as just a personal preference, I would have actually liked it if you or the gentleman there would have checked with me just once more so that I could have ordered the bread sooner but that's just me. It was in no way a negative on my wonderful experience and I look forward to my next visit. More...

For appetizer, the Samosas are just the right amount of crispy and spicy. The kabobs are tender and juicy. Â The Moong Dahl stew is phenomenal.

First time there, good quality fresh food and the owners daughter, my server was very pleasant, although she seemed to not know a whole lot about things there. I will be back for other menu offerings . I ordered the meat grape leaves and lamb kabob and they were great even though just a bit over cooked. Something was not quite right with the Turkish coffee as they should use a finer grind on their coffee. Some chutney type of sauce they offered was absolutely incredible. The only complaint really is I believe their prices are about 15% too high. More...

My wife and I are here before seeing James Taylor at the Sanford Center. The space is not impressive but does include some Afghani rugs and other decorations. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. We got two filling meals, a Turkish coffee and a piece of baklava for under $30. I would definitely eat here again. More...
