What inspired you to start your own business?

“Sugar & Rind is all about putting the joy back into partying. I wanted to create something that would take away all the hassle of organising a party and make it super-fun and imaginative at the same time. Our motto is ‘We bring the party, you throw it’ - and that’s exactly what we do. From food and drink, to decorations and entertainment, we’re on a mission to make throwing a party ridiculously easy.'

Our Founder Philly Mackinnon is an events pro of 25 years. She wanted to make the planning of any event, super easy and enjoyable via her easy to use website.

Sugar & Rind has partnered and negotiated with carefully selected caterers, wine suppliers, DJ’s, furniture suppliers – basically everything you need for a fantastic party. Then we’ve put it all into one place to make it ‘shoppable’ for you! Absolutely no more liaising with multiple suppliers to put your party together. For the same price but zero hassle, you can use our ‘Build Your Party’ tool to order everything you need. Or Go Bespoke and we'll create something completely unique for you. We absolutely love to talk to our customers about their parties so please do give us a call. We are very keen to help and guide you through our service in person.

Hiring Jessica for our wedding planner and on the day wedding co-ordinator was the best decision we could have made! It became clear right from the start that Jessica would be just what we needed and we felt very confident and comfortable with her straight away. Jessica came on board about a third of the way through our wedding planning; we had booked our venue and secured our bar and catering suppliers already. We wanted help with finding other suppliers such as photographer and florist, help with making sure we stayed on track with the to do list and making sure the day itself ran smoothly. Our wedding was a dry hire of the venue which meant that we had to put everything in to place ourselves and nothing was provided by the venue. Jessica was superb at liaising with people and took a lot of the pressure off. She found us some fantastic people to work with and we couldn’t have been happier with the team that we had in place for the day. We held regular meetings and Jessica was flexible to fit around us. We felt that Jessica went above and beyond what was expected and she was a real asset. Nothing was too much trouble and she thought of everything! She was also a calming and reassuring presence the day before and on the day and we felt very lucky to have her there, as did our guests! Jessica is professional, organised, knowledgable and has great wedding energy! We would not have the same stress free wedding planning experience without her.

Malika & Louis and team were great. I booked Mocha & Latte Catering for my husbands funeral. Malika worked with me to accommodate any specific food requests. They took the care to visit the venue ahead of the date to ensure logistics and to get to know the venue's team and work with them. On the day, they were highly professional, friendly and carried out all requests. I chose their cold/hot buffet option and there was plenty of of everything. A good and varied selection. Thank you and I will not hesitate to contact you in the future.
