In my experience dealing with a variety of clients over 25 years, I have often come across clients who have received either bad service, bad advice. Sitting in a situation of multiple debts which could include SARS. The last time I came across this was July 2020, where the client had over paid in provisional tax, and just by glance I could see that he had overpaid. I then submitted the correct information and he ended up with a refund of close to R300k without an audit. Great accountants are a much needed service to the clients.

I started this business 25 years ago. I was working underneath my manager whom had transferred from Dubai and I felt he just didn't understand what it takes to measure service quality. I was at that stage the Regional Service Quality Manager. When the position of National Service Quality Manager became available, I applied for the position and I did not get the position. When seeking answers from my new boss, he literally held my age and being a woman as the main reasons. At that stage, I vowed to not work for someone again. I have a stable business now and couldn't be happier.

With Our business Module, we provide not only the full accounting services, but also consulting and webinars relating to getting the best advantage in their strategy and tax structuring. I can offer online and remotely. All services can be done via online accounting and payroll packages, and meetings, consulting is done via Zoom.

In 2020, we worked very hard to keep updated about new funding, the Ters implementation where employers could not afford to pay salaries, as well as the Solidarity Fund. There were a number of Tax Adjustments to Employers, such as the PAYE. The employee must submit the correct PAYE return, however when paying the PAYE, SARS allowed the Employers to pay 80% leaving a balance of 20% still owing without any penalties given. We have educated our clients, assisted in setting up guidelines for employee's to follow, and if an employee can work from home, we strongly suggested that to our clients. In lockdown mode, we sat with our clients via zoom or teams to strategize how we were going to assist them in keeping their doors open. With great success, and our business module in strategizing, the new methods were implemented immediately, controlling risk factors, and creating new idea's, ensuring Covid-19 didn't have a disastrous impact on the clients that HBS represented.
