CCD is BBB A+ Accredited and specializes in complete storm restoration and roof replacements. CCD works with homeowners and also with their insurance companies to completely restore damaged property. With over 22 years of experience, Chad Hitchcock built the company from word of mouth and directly manages CCD and its tremendous network of residential and commercial materials suppliers and vendors to install completely new and MATCHING roofing systems (no mix and matching of materials that VOID warranties) that maximize labor and materials warranties for the homeowners and exceed building code and nailing requirements.
Florida is a state where construction and insurance are almost a science that requires experience to properly estimate the true replacement cost of damaged property. So upon arrival to inspect a roof, or to discuss an estimate with a homeowner, it is a pleasure seeing our customers receive a thorough explanation of the process and our services in the coming project.
Corporate Construction & Design Inc. started as a word of mouth business, and as a tradesmen for over 22 years, Chad Hitchcock founded the company as he learned the business over the years as an apprentice to his then mentor and instructor. Some things have changed over the decades but one thing remains the same and that is quality of workmanship and the ever important labor and materials warranties that come with a job well done.
Whether you select us or someone else to do the job, here is what you need to know: your contractor must be licensed and the highest license is the certified CCC license for roof replacements. Next, Florida only requires $300,000 in liability insurance, and we feel it should never be less than $1,000,000 of which we carry an aggregate of $2,000,000. Florida Building Code requires 5 nails per shingle, and CCD installs using Enhanced Nailing Pattern which uses 6 nails per shingle to exceed the code and strengthen wind resistance given the geographical location of our beautiful State of Florida. Most insurance companies pay for and provide extra shingles called "waste" which some contractors use in place of Starter strip. We refuse to do that since one, it voids the materials warranty and two, under Florida Law insurance is supposed to pay for it. Any contractor using the waste doesn't have to buy it so they use that and other means to reduce their "price" at the expense of owners. In addition, because CCD installs only MATCHING roofing systems from premium shingles manufacturers, CCD as part of its workflow process, will help our homeowner by registering their materials warranty. Not many contractors will go through the trouble, and those that use the waste instead of starter strips definitely can't as they know the warranty would be useless. Finally, when a roof meets and exceeds the building code and has an iron clad warranty, we see a lot of our customers reaching back at their insurance companies to get the illusive $500 Hurricane Deductible. We can't stress enough the importance of knowing all this information, and only hope that the roofing contractor you endorse meets or exceeds these salient points if they were selected as your preferred contractor.
