Morgan J Birth Photography

Baltimore

I've photographed hundreds of newborns over the past few years as a photographer for a major hospital in Baltimore. I have also had the pleasure to capture a handful of births in Maryland and am eager to witness many more! My number one priority during your birth is to document all aspects of the labor and delivery process as unobtrusively as possible. Every birth story is different and is reflected as such in each new parent's birth gallery. As a photographer I offer maternity, birth, newborn and lifestyle/family photography sessions to families in and around the Baltimore area.

What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?

Birth photography clients often are asked the most questions. Since birth is so unpredictable it is important that both the client and I are one the same page.
When is your due date?
Is this your first pregnancy?
Where do you plan on giving birth?
What do you expect out of the photos you will receive?
Do you prefer the photos be taken from the view of your doctor/midwife or your own view?

What do you love most about your job?

There are few moments in life as magical as a beautiful baby being welcomed earth-side. The raw emotion captured during labor and birth are incomparable. I love being able to bear witness to a mother's unparalleled strength, beauty, and new found love!

What inspired you to start your own business?

I am the mom of one energetic, adventurous, and loving 2 year old boy. His birth alone inspired me to do what I love and become a professional photographer! Reminiscing about my labor and birth - I wish so much that I could've had a photographer present. After the C-Section I barely remember anything about those first precious hours as a new mom. The drugs after surgery made everything foggy for me... An unfortunate occurrence that so many mothers can attest to. It is my ultimate goal now to give mothers and fathers the precious memories that I was unable to have during my birth.

Why should our clients choose you?

I am not only a seasoned photographer but also a parent who has been in the position that my clients are in. I understand their journey and can connect with them on a level that isn't strictly professional but has a personal touch as well.

What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?

Being in the moment! Taking the time to view every precious detail will lead to an amazing photograph. Quick reflexes are also a good quality to have.
