Michelle is an absolutely incredible voice teacher! She is really kind and patient with her students. She plays the piano extremely well and is also very helpful with suggesting and introducing new music. Michelle suggested I buy two music volumes in our first lesson, and now we have worked on almost every song in them. I look forward to my lessons with her every week. Michelle has helped me prepare for numerous auditions and always gives a lot of constructive feedback on how to improve and sing in healthy ways. She's just the best!! Michelle truly has a passion and love for musical theatre and it shows.

I love the professionalism and friendliness from Isaiah at the front desk to Ashley, the Director and the tutoring staff. My son started going to C2 last month, he's taking Math with Anna and he absolutely loves her! He cannot say enough about her, every time he goes to a session, he comes out so proud and accomplished! He passed a quiz with an 85 in Math right after the second session and was so super excited. They also helped him with a Science project and he went into school very positive, knowing that he knew all of the material, I mean really knew it and understood it! We love C2 and highly recommend!

What we want for our children we should want for ourselves: unlimited opportunities that inspire inquiry and reflection in a collaborative and supportive environment. Math Mini-Lessons is grounded in the developmental-interaction approach to learning. We recognize that children and adults learn best when they are actively engaged with materials, ideas, and people. We understand that children do not all learn at the same rate or in the same way. We create an environment that foster children’s development in and love of math. Any child can become a Math Marvel. Although the company was founded in 2018, I have been an math educator since 2001, having taught every grade from 2nd to 8th and coached math teachers in middle and high school. I don't trick tricks, I teach your child to understand and appreciate math.
Working with kids is very different than working with adults. It requires patience, understanding and grace. I don't believe there is such thing as a bad kid or a kid who can't learn. Even when the child is challenging or the topic is tough, kids really want to do their best, they want to feel successful. It is easier to change a child's mindset than an adult. And when they trust you, they try even harder. I love watching kids get excited during lessons. They can't help but smile when they start to feel progress. I love that!
I have been an educator since 2001. When I started I couldn't believe how many kids believed they would never be good at math. I would meet their parents and they'd say the same things, "I'm not a math person so I can't help him" or "Well I didn't learn it that Common Core way so I can't help her". I'd also see teachers teach tricks instead of the real meaning behind the content and kids were. Students in my class were taught to think, not just little robots who plug and chug numbers. I started Math Mini-Lessons because I believe every child can do math. I wanted to create critical thinkers that explored math and saw it as a challenge, yes, but one they would work through.
I am not a traditional tutor who just reviews the homework and says if they're right or wrong. And I am not a 10 minute Khan Academy video who does math and while the kid is lost on step 1. I am a veteran educator with 20 years of experience and two masters degrees in education and mathematics. I am an expert in the field of teaching mathematics. I have taught a huge range of students from 2nd grade to 8th as well as coached high school Algebra I and Geometry teachers. Because of this, I know what your child should have learned before this year, what they are learning this year and what they need to know for next year. I understand how the mind of child develops and how to breakdown complex content to kids so they understand it. I also connect with kids very well and build a positive relationship so they take risks in their learning.
Absolutely. Most of my clients meet on zoom, math on their time. I use engagement platforms so students can show their thinking and their work. This allows me to ask thinking questions to help them really process what they are doing and provide on the spot feedback.
Classes are done remotely so there is no additional travel or risk of exposure to Covid-19.
