This vet took such good care of my old cat. The wait was very long (I was there for about three hours total), but that is to be expected for a low cost walk in clinic. Two of the vet techs looked at her, asked about her vaccinations and got her up to date, and gave her antibiotics for a skin issue. All together it was less than $50 for the entire visit. I am very pleased about the COST and the QUALITY of the visit! I will definitely have no concerns taking her back if she needs it again. More...

In the middle of a parvo outbreak, with a waiting room full of dogs and owners and small children, the staff and service were excellent. Mulligan Beagleman got his exam, vaccinations, and a much needed pedicure with no fuss or stress, and at a great price. What beagle doesn't like a good deal on excellent healthcare? Mulligan certainly does! More...

Dr. James is the best. He cares about your pet's wellbeing. And gives you the best option. The down side is the long wait.

While the wait is long here, it's to be expected at such a high volume walk-in Clinic. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and make it worth the wait! My dogs always get well taken care of here and I appreciate their efforts! More...

1st time here, plan on being here for awhile, but with any low cost Clinic that's kinda the normal. What was unexpected was the friendliness of the staff and Doctor, my dog really liked her, and she is not the most friendliest of dogs. Liked that they have lots of options to keep animals separate especially from the ones that may be contagious. And lots of parking. Just plan ahead of time to be here for awhile. More...

This is our first visit here. It's not close to home, but also not all that far. I have been looking for an affordable veterinarian to take our girls and boys too. It shouldn't cost more for a dog or cat than a person. The beginning of this year our Chihuahua had an ear infection. We took her down the street and the exam, medicine, nail trim and clean her anal glands was around $330.0. I about fell over. I felt ripped off. I did a review. I read so many great things about this west side place, how nice everyone is and how reasonable the prices are. They don't take appointments so we expected a wait. Yeah baby! 31/2 hours we waited. We know now to go after 12 noon on Monday or go on Tues or Wednesday and I think even then it would've smart to go right after noon. When all was done, Miracle got 2 meds for her ears, nail trim, and Flea and tick med for three months. She also got 2 shots. Kachina Lu got 2 shots and flea and tick medicine for 3 months. Dutchess Fancy got all of her shots, nail trim, flea and tick medicine for3 mos. Remember just Miracles ear infection was about $340.00 by our house. All of this today was $353.00. A lot of money, but not for what we got. More...

When I moved to Indiana, I had to find a new vet for my two cats, aka my fur babies. They are older so they have health concerns as well as cannot trim their own nails down, requiring checkups and nail trimmings often. It was important I could find somewhere that had walk-in hours, affordable services, and knowledgeable staff. I was able to have found all three things at this location! I called ahead and they informed me they usually have longer waits because of their low prices but that if I came a little before the walk-in hours, the doors would be unlocked and I could sit inside with my cats. The wait was definitely longer than I would have liked, since cats and dogs are permitted in the same space, taking one star off my rating, but the vets have been very kind to my cats, explained everything well, and very professional. I highly recommend them as long as you have time to wait. More...

I agree West Michigan Veterinary is an excellent place for decent pet care. I had one incident that caused me to pick my days to make a trip to the clinic. They have two veterinarians on staff. I give Dr. Johnson high marks, but the other vet not so much. Also, the front desk person is not very friendly. You have been warned. More...

The staff here deserves good stars Becasue they put up with some shit. If you are looking for good care at cheap prices go here. YOU WILL PROBABLY HAVE TO WAIT 1-3 HOURS. Totally normal for a high volume walk in clinic. I reccomend parking in back, they will call when ready for you. Take your dog on a walk, sit in the grass and doodle on your phone during the nice day. Don't sit in the lobby if you can refrain from it as it is beyond stressful due to everyone in one location and other people's dogs being unruly. More...

This is a wonderful place for affordable pet care. Yes the wait is long but so worth it to not be in debt for a pet vaccine or cold. The staff is very friendly. We got a kitty from IACS and they waived the first pet visit fee. Meds are reasonable as well! More...

We took a little Lola for her second set of puppy shots. Check and was very easy and the check and staff was pleasant. The way it was fairly long as this is a low-cost clinic and it is first come first serve. The that himself and his techs We're very brief with her visits, however were equally as pleasant and friendly. At the last minute, I asked they clip her nails and they had no problem doing that. Overall it was a great experience. More...

I loooooove West Michigan Vet clinic!! They are amazing. I've been accustomed to low cost clinics so the wait doesn't bother me, been going here about 3 years now. I try coming in on odd days and times; and I've never been there longer than a couple hours. Whether it's a routine visit for shots or emergency because the dog ran into a bicycling group and was hit by bikes lol, they are so great I couldn't imagine going anywhere else. When I was without work and my cat was diagnosed with cystitis and needed special diet food (which was expensive!), they gave me as much dry food they had available for free and the wet food was at such a low price, I bought as much as I could afford. The doctor returns calls and talks with me about options without having me return for a visit. They are just very customer friendly and skilled. My dog was so afraid when I first brought him in and the tech gave him a treat and just loved on him as soon as she walked in the room. It felt like family. No other vet clinic will love your family like they do.Also, kudos on the new technology with shot reminders via email and call! They're amazing and advancing! Go West Michigan Street Vet Clinic!!! You're all so amazing. Don't stop now! More...

I appreciate them so much. My poor girl had been given wet dog food when a family member watched her and her tummy was beyond tore up. So on day four of it not getting any better and her just being more miserable we took her in. Now there might be more of a wait than most because they are a low cost clinic and there are a lot of people there with their pets, but I'm glad I went. My rating is only based on my experience with their vaccine clinic. I took my litter of 5 puppies in for their first set of vaccines and wormer and was in and out within an hour. They were fairly busy on a week day. The staff was clearly overworked but were friendly. I will definitely use this clinic from now on, you cannot beat their prices. $10 for first shots and free wormer if only getting vaccines. They also have a wide range of flea and tick treatments to choose from. More...

I have had my dog for 7 years and she is now a senior.  She is starting to have several problems with her old age and I've tried out several vets around me looking for the right one, both for cost and staff.  I had yet to find the right one until I visited West Michigan St. Vet.  Dr. Johnson and his staff are very friendly and caring about the animals.  It is a low cost vet clinic, so besides maybe FACE, they are the cheapest around.  I tried to visit FACE once, but left pretty quickly and was glad I was told about WMSVC instead.  The first thing I noticed upon my initial visit was how clean the facility was.  It was brightly lit inside and it smelled like bleach.  (it was dimly lit and stunk of animals at FACE)  The staff welcomes you with a smile and lets you know how the place runs if it's your first visit.  People in the waiting room are generally friendly and will chat with you while waiting. So here's how it runs:  Dr. Johnson owns it, but there are other Vets on staff as well. Their website has a calendar that shows the hours for each day (generally 9a-4p M-F, 8:30-12:30p S) and which vet is working, should you have a preference.  For general wellness appointments, it is walk ins only.  Which means, you show up at your convenience during business hours, check in and wait your turn to be called to a patient room.  I have gone on Saturday mornings and through the week and have never waited from check-in to check-out more than 2 hours.  If all you need is vaccinations or OTC meds, the wait is MUCH shorter.  I suggest bringing a tablet or book with you to pass the time. The thing I like about the facility is that they have a "quiet room" for pets with anxiety.  They also have a small room with some toys for children.  Every animal must be on a leash or in a cage.  Any unruly animals are asked to wait outside or leave.  The only thing I wish they would change is the check out process.  I hate having to wait to be called to check-out.  I've waited 20 min before.  I wish we could automatically check-out once done with our appointment. If you don't mind the wait, this is definitely a great place to take your pet. They are very low cost and care about you and your pet.  I think the office visit is $15 or $20.  Meds are typically cheaper too.  I also found them to be the least expensive place for my dogs teeth cleaning. I love my cat. She's the cutest hot mess ever. I took her in for vaccinations, but ended up having to unexpectedly schedule dental surgery for her stinky cat breath. Her teeth had gotten so bad due to her refusal to let me brush, spray, or perform any kind of dental care on her. Sigh... I'm really glad the vet was open and honest about her medical needs. I was able to get her in fairly quickly. I was a nervous Fur Mom, but the staff, although young and a bit goofy, was able to answer all my questions and took care of my ornery bundle of joy. I would definitely take her back. You can't beat the low cost. I went early in the morning on a week day, so the wait wasn't bad at all. More...

Location:  Sits back from the road a bit, in a rundown looking outlet space.  Across from an apartment complex.Indoor Space:  Clean, large.  They have to waiting areas.  One for calmer dogs and smaller animals.  The other for larger and more active ones.Staff:  The vet is very knowledgeable and efficient.  He is more friendly with the dogs than the owners, which I don't mind at all.  One receptionist was extremely nice and friendly, the other- not so much.  The other medical assistants are fast and overall pretty nice considering their extremely large case load.Cost:  Minimal, they will waive certain fees.  The office visit is waived if you are only getting shots.Tips:  If you think your dog has the flu, go around to the back entrance.  If it is a routine visit and you are their for shots, I recommend arriving an hour before it opens.  Especially on Saturdays. I have been taking my pets here for almost four years and I would (and have) highly recommend it!  When my dog got ill and had to have tests run the vet that we had seen, Dr. Johnson, gave me his cell phone number to call on his day off if I didn't hear back about the results by a certain time.  He has done this multiple times, calling to give results and discuss options for treatment in his off time.  When my old lady dog became so ill that she needed to be put to sleep the entire staff was exceedingly compassionate and even sent a condolence card in the mail a few weeks later.  The vet techs have all been friendly, front desk staff does not sit there with a smile plastered on their faces but I have never experienced them being anything short of cordial and professional!  The waits can be long but you get low cost-high quality care.  So, it's worth it!  If you love your pets, take them here,  the staff will love them too!! Four stars ONLY because there is no bathroom. waits can be long but I was warned ahead of time. I read a review that said you can go to the convenient store in the same strip, NOT TRUE. Pee beforehand! This is a high volume, low cost clinic. I did not go here with the expectation of incredible service or amazing care. I did however expect a wait (short for me since I was FIFO), a shorter than typical meeting with the vet about my pets (they were very friendly but it was a slightly rushed visit), and a price tag I can afford for the care I have NEEDED for my neglected, furry fam. Thank you!! More...

I visited this clinic because I foster a rescued dog. This clinic thankfully offers discounts to some of the rescue shelters. It appears they offer good prices to all, therefore you should be prepared to wait. I also like being able to check their calendar online to see when they are taking walk-ins. While my first visit with Dr. Johnson wasn't as impressive as I'd hoped, my second visit with Dr Ruth Landau was much better! She took her time, checked my little dog thoroughly, gave her fluids and meds. I can only hope that this time my little foster dog is on her way to a full recovery. I do appreciate that Dr. Johnson offers these services for those that are trying to care for the animals. I wish more vets could keep their prices within reason. More...
