This is such a cute art gallery, filled with local goods! We were in Anchorage for three days and actually came here each day, just to look around. The items are very well curated and it was very fun to spend time (and money!) here. More...

Love this gallery. Contemporary artwork that weaves traditional Alaskan images and symbols, with contemporary artistic styles. Unlike anything else I say on my cruise tour. My mom and I left with 5 pieces for ourselves and as gifts.  Kind and helpful staff! More...

Katie's art is magical, ethereal and transporting. I only have so much wall space though, so in addition to a few prints I bought an octopus sweatshirt, which I love. The t-shirt source she uses has unique and interesting necklines and styles, which I also really like. Her whole shop is filled with great art, cards, jewelry, etc - keepsakes from my Anchorage conference trip in 2017 which I still treasure. I wish they would still offer online sales, as I now have to direct my family to shop by phone from the shop for my birthday! More...

One of my top favorite galleries in Anchorage, as well as one of my favorite stops during the art walk! The gallery is very cozy and an inviting atmosphere as usually there is interesting live music at the store front (during the art walk). Some things you'll find here: - Unique pieces of jewelry, scarves, and other accessories in the front area- artwork by local Alaska artists, which is everything from painted canvas to carved bowls and other pieces- clothing from nearby Squid Ink company (more towards the back of the gallery)FYI: no pictures are allowed in this gallery.Picture below are of the stickers I bought at the gallery to place on my hydroflask. This little gallery is chock full of incredible local art. I was immediately enamored with the colorful canvases and stunning photographs that adorn the walls of this shop. There is literally something on every surface in here so it took me some time to scan the walls from top to bottom. The store goes pretty far back and has a corner nook that I would guess some people don't make it all the way back there to see. Luckily I did! I picked out a neat little aurora painting by a local gal and almost brought home other large pieces (too bad I was restrained by the size of my suitcase!) This place is a total gem on a street with otherwise touristy t-shirt, shot glass, and souvenir type stores. If you want something local and unique this place is ideal. More...

How have I not reviewed Sevigny? This is definitely of one of my top 5 favorite things in Anchorage.  Tourists, if you're looking for a unique, handmade Alaskan gift, this place should be your first stop.  I'm pretty sure 100% of their items are made in Alaska, by local Alaskan artists, artisans and crafters. Admittedly they don't have Native Alaskan Crafts, but they are very heavy on Alaskan themed art.  Items range from under 10 dollars to several thousand and there's nothing pretentious about this gallery.  It's all acessible and gorgeous.  Items run the gamut: stationary, jewelry, glass, sculpture,  paintings, textiles, home decor, photography, clothing, beauty products... so many things I can't name them all.  Alaskan themes are abundant, birch, halibit, salmon, Denali, Anchorage, snow, mountains, moose, ect.  If you wanna buy me something I'll love, start here. It's a shame it's so far down 4th Avenue next to the dusty old abandoned 4th Ave Theater, because a lot of people miss this place because of its location. Seek it out, you won't regret it. More...

Favorite gallery in town. A must-visit in downtown Anchorage. It's more of a Boho style gift shop with some cool art pieces at reasonable prices. I wish they would mix up the styles a little more often of art & handicrafts they offer. However, the works by V.Rae are incredible, and it's the first piece of art we splurged on! First Fridays they bring in live music and a little food. A fun time to visit while it's hoppin'. More...

I always get great service and they have a consistent assortment of high quality goods. More...

Liked this retail store featuring unique jewelry, clothing, bags, handmade artisan merchandise. Interesting and unique shopping.  There was a guitar player playing on the mezzanine who added a nice touch to the atmosphere. More...

Yesterday was the 'first Friday' event where all the galleries are open late, with snackage, and a stellar ambiance.  Sevigny REALLY stood out, as they featured a quartet of flutists (sp? ) providing some lovely music to enjoy.  Kate Sevigny is a magical artist...her works focus on nature and in a new, whimsical way that brings a smile to your face.  It's not enough to buy a postcard of her work though....with her huge original oil paintings staring at you, you feel like you almost have the space in your tiny apartment to feature it.  This is my favorite gallery in Anchorage!  She also has a lot of cool jewelry, handknit headbands, painted scarves and objects d'arte. I love this gallery in the heart of downtown. It has a wonderful, young, hip, not-at-all stuffy atmosphere. There's such an interesting assortment of artwork to admire from lots of different artists, including the owner of the gallery, Kate Sevigny. And there's an Alaskan flavor to everything without it being to cheesily Alaskan, if  you know what I mean. Walk around the corner to its sister store, the Fiddlehead Gallery -- it's a good one too! Not only is the artwork interesting but the reasonable prices make these galleries the perfect place to buy a gift or treat yourself to something special. More...
