What do you love most about your job?
The energy it unleashes! When people discover that their work can be connecting, fulfilling, and meaningful, they take to it with new energy and passion, they become more successful and fulfilled, and they have fun!
What inspired you to start your own business?
Volunteering to help people in pain!
In 2011, I was diagnosed with late-stage cancer and told I'd be lucky to live five years.
So, to ease my pain and fear, I retired and served breakfast to the homeless at Glide Memorial in San Francisco. I stopped feeling sorry for myself, and realized how much pain there is in the world. I spent years as a full-time volunteer until my oncologist told me that, to his amazement, I was cancer-free and no longer needed his care..
During those years of volunteering, I learned that, when you free people from their pain, you exponentially expand their energy and effectiveness. Once I could believe in my own future, I started helping business leaders free their people from the pain, drudgery, and confusion that is so prevalent in the workplace.
