This place was amazing in the sense of its history. It's a page right out of the roaring 20's. I went in wearing nice pants and a button up and I felt like I wasn't dressed fancy enough. Checked in on a Sat and check in was warm and friendly. Room not ready so we left our bags and headed out for lunch. Returned and our room was ready so checked in. We walked by our luggage in lobby so we schlepped it upstairs ourselves, no biggie. Turned out the fireplace didn’t work and electrical outlet in bathroom didn’t work either. So had to use hair dryer in room. Room was great size and bed very comfy. We passed on the breakfast as we experienced it over a year ago and keurig coffee isn’t that great. Staff very helpful. We watched the Aiken Christmas parade from our room and watching it was super fun. Restaurant for dinner was great. Cameron was a fab server. Restaurant review elsewhere. Reba the house keeper made us feel like we were on cloud 9. From the fireplace to the fresh lemon water she makes the Wilcox a wonderful experience and we will def we back, just to see her. I also love Tina and Chelsea at the front desk, as well as all of the sweet bellman and room service ppl. AND the manager of the kitchen. Literally everyone here makes you feel so happy and thankful   to be here. I know he's not a full time employee but John Vaughn on the piano...is incredible. Bravo Geoff and Shannon. My wife and I just spent two nights at the Willcox for a club function - all in all it is a wonderful place and well worth it. The minute you enter the Willcox you know you are in a special place. The rooms are comfortably sized and nicely furnished. The lobby is beautiful - you want to spend time there. Our club has had the privilege of having its Christmas dinner at the Willcox for the last few years and everyone looks forward to the event all the more because of the venue. Is the hotel perfect no - the hot water can be a bit spotty in the tub and the breakfast service leaves much to be desired. A limited selection and orders that are at best wishful thinking need attention - I ordered a ham and cheese omelet with toast and my wife order a cheese omelet with toast - I received an omelet with a bit of cheese and no ham but a few strips of bacon and my wife received an omelet with nothing in it and neither of us received any toast. Coffee service via Keurig does not work with a room full of guests. A bit of fresh fruit would have been welcome. The only positive about the breakfast service is that you don’t need to leave the property. We chose to arrive the day before our club function and had dinner in the restaurant the day we arrived- food was delicious; service excellent; and the drinks strong - nicely done! We look forward to our next visit and hope the breakfast service steps up to the level of the rest of this very special hotel! More...

The Willcox is full of history and very charming. The folks are friendly and welcoming. The lobby bar was perpetually busy. ..seems to be the place to be in Aiken. The rooms were historical and comfortable. Comes with hot breakfast. Dinner was very delicious and nicely done. The location downtown is very convenient to walk most places. What a magical hotel. It was cold and rainy outside and it was very nice to sit by the fireplace and have an aperitif. It was a Saturday night and the lobby was full as well as the dining room. I went to take some pictures of the lobby and one of the front desk staff offered to do a small tour of the space. Very nice touch. Our anniversary dinner at the Wilcox was by far the best dining experience we have had since moving to Aiken. We will definitely return for anniversaries to come. Every bite was delectable.

We recently stayed overnight in one of the suites. On two separate occasions, I did not have enough hands to carry food and drink up to the room for the family, and the bartender and waiter accompanied me personally to help out. Amazing! My husband recently spent 2 wonderful nights at the Willcox and loved the hotel, but especially the gracious staff. Every need was met and the room was comfortable and roomy. Breakfast was perfect and just enough. The linens were first class and so nice to have 4 towels and not like many hotels just 2. We liked it so much we have already booked another stay. Amazing. I had booked mid level room for me and my wife's first night together and when the owners found out that it was our honeymoon, they put us in the Roosevelt Suite - the nicest and largest suite in the hotel. Several weeks ago I saw this special where you paid for 2 nights and got one night free. I called and Michelle helped me book it fir me and my husband as well as planned a massage for Saturday am. What a wonderful time we had! We stayed in The Whitney Suite and couldn’t have been more pleased!
