The Bakery House is the best bakery on the Main Line hands down. I have friends that light up when I say I'm bringing dessert from TBH. The owner is a gem and works very hard to please her customers. This is the best bakery!I drive from Cherry Hill, NJ to this location in Brynmawr, Pa it's over an hour drive to get cake! ! but I won't go anywhere else to get a birthday cake.I have ordered 3 birthday cakes from here in the past 6 months and I have been so pleased with every single one. The Large vanilla cake is dense but extremely moist and the decorations have been beautiful. Even more amazing is their orange almond pound cake loaf, I don't even want to say how many of these loaves I have bought! I buy them for gifts, I buy them for my office and for myself. I decided to stop here after breakfast.. Always looking for a new bakery to try. They had cake slices! Great I can try their cake with out buying a whole cake first. I got a red velvet slice and 2 bars. Everyone was nice and friendly at the bakery. It was a pleasent experience. Upon getting home and trying the cake slice I was not as impressed as I wanted to be. I hope that the cake slice was just an older cake they sliced because of age and that their cakes are not as dry as my slice was. It was packaged in a plastic take out box salad bar like container. Maybe a piece of plastic wrap over it would have saved the cake from getting so dry. It reminded me of left over birthday cake.. That edge exposed to the elements that hardens over night. Don't get me wrong the cake had good flavor and the icing was pretty awesome... I ate all of that off my slice... But hopefully their cakes when fresh are equally amazing.So since the above review I tried their peanut butter bars... They are absolutely delicious forget the cake and give me a sheet of these. Bakery House made my three tiered wedding cake. The tasting session was amazing. They give you large slices of each of their offerings. Our baker (I think her name is Rachel) explained each flavor and gave us ample time to sample privately and was not pushy at all. She was very friendly, helpful, and pleasant!While my husband and I were sampling the cakes, a few customers walked by and told us they also ordered their wedding cake from Bakery House and suggested flavors. Don't let the other reviews turn you away from this place! Honestly I was hesitant to go there to buy a birthday cake but I am SO glad and thankful that I did! I got a 8" single round birthday cake-chocolate chip pound cake was the flavor because that was one of the gluten free options they had! The cake was BEAUTIFUL! I was blown away when I saw it. And it was only $25! It was beautifully decorated and DELICIOUS!!!! Also, I tried their pumpkin spice cupcake, chocolate chip cookie, and mini red velvet cupcake. Everything was amazing. The pumpkin spice cupcake was basically a spice cake cupcake with this amazing spiced cream cheese frosting. I'm not sure exactly what was in it but was not your ordinary plain cream cheese frosting. I ordered a birthday cake for my daughter and it turned out much better than expected being that it was 3 days before the party and simply based off a phone conversation about princesses with the designer. Bakery House makes my favorite cakes ever! My mom still surprises me with one every year for my birthday. Always vanilla with vanilla buttercream frosting. They're fantastic, better than any other cakes I've ever had. Their designs tend to be pretty basic, nothing intricate or entirely special. My mom always orders the cakes so I can't speak to their customer service. I've tried a few other things over the years (lemon bars, cupcakes, blondies?) and everything is always amazing. I called on Wednesday May 2nd. I needed a communion cake and I wanted a cross cake. The communion is Saturday May 5th (I know short notice). But I picked up the most stunning cake on Friday. This place is amazing with all the other orders for this weekend they made me a beautiful cross cake all done in pink and white for my goddaughter.  Cannot say enough about this bakery. Bryn Mawr's best kept secret. Really is worth the trip to see the delightful cakes and pastries they make. The owner took my order and said hmm I don't know hold on, 5 minutes later she said found my cross pan I'll have it done for you on Friday at 4pm. A good friend of mine was having a joint birthday party with her husband. We had a nice dinner made by their personal chef, but they decided to order a cake for dessert from The Bakery House! When the cake came out, everyone was in shock by how beautiful it looked. It was beautiful piped on the outside, had amazing looking decorations including pinecones and two beautiful "love-birds" to match the theme of the party. The cake was really good. The cake itself was really light and airy, but full of flavor. The chocolate chips inside also added a second dimension of delicious flavor! The Bakery House is one of my favorite bakeries on the Main Line. Considering the scant options out this way, you might think that's not saying much, but you'd be wrong, because I'm a bakery slut and my forays have extended far beyond 'round the way. I love their coconut cake, macadamia white chocolate cookies, applecake, cakes, pies, muffins, cookies, bars.  Even bags of day old for sale.  When they ask me if "that's all?"  I really flashback to kid in a candy shop.... I've been here countless times and tried numerous treats, from cookies and other baked goods to cakes and chocolate covered pretzels, and I've never been disappointed! Just look at the beautiful cake in the photo- it was such a hit at Easter dinner. The chocolate icing and hard chocolate covering was delicious and the vanilla cake inside was the perfect consistency. The best cakes. My entire family loves their chocolate cake with raspberry filling. We have ordered one for every family birthday, every year, for the past 10+ years. Yelp brought me here. Absolutely fantastic bakery. Love their selection. I had a brownie and it was cooked to perfect crispness. Also tried one of their samples and I must say the 7 layer bar is really nice. I'm surprised though at how pricey their selections are. They lose a star because it's uncommon to be paying such high prices for bakery items but I guess they can command such a high price because their tastes are dead on.
