I just had my dogs nails trimmed at Tangled Tales in Altoona. The staff was very welcoming! I have a heeler and she is very strong. It was our first time there, so I knew she was going to be nervous. They allowed me to walk toward the back so my dog could see me. Another groomer politely helped with the trim. They stayed calm while my stubborn girl wanted to beeline off that table. They were so gentle with her and I am very glad to have a place like this in Altoona! More...

After having some disappointing experiences with a different groomer, I was hesitant to finding a new one. Having scoured the internet reviews and talking to other pet owners at the dog park, I decided to give Tangled Tails a try. The were willing to take on a new Chow Chow client and I was hoping to find a place that my dog wanted to go. Upon arrival, we were happily greeted and asked in detail what we wanted in this grooming experience. The receptionist painstakingly checked and double checked to verify what my dog should look like when I picked her up. Then, I left her with the receptionist who took her off to the spa.Three hours later (she is a rough coated Chow Chow) I was contacted that she was ready.Much to my amazement, I found her looking exactly as requested. She seemed to have enjoyed the experience and was not showing signs of distress. After an inspection of her and a discussion with the groomer, I was even happier to know that she and the groomer enjoyed the appointment.They gave her a fine cut without breaking her undercoat. They blended her mane quite well and ensured she did not have a mudflap that required regular maintenance. I am more than happy to recommend this groomer to anyone looking for a new groomer that their dog will love visiting. I cannot attest to the other services they offer, but if my Chow Chow is happy to return somewhere, I am going to go back. More...

I highly recommend this place. We took our 2 dogs there for 2 nights, and they were both very well taken care of. The staff was incredibly friendly, and told us all about the puppies stay. They told us multiple stories about the puppies having fun and getting to play, and have a good time. On top of the wonderful people, the building is incredibly well taken care of and doesn't have the smell that you get at many of the pet places around town. We use to use ANOTHER groomer and every time they would come home the dogs would have fleas. They would tell us they found fleas but we would only find them after being groomed. Long story short we have never had a flea issue with TT. They also do not make you leave your dog there for hours but you can pick them up shortly after appointment. We love bringing our girl to doggy day care. She has so much fun with the other dogs and the staff love her as if she were their own.
