Rita at Sweet Encounters was such a joy to work with. I called her to set up a date to meet and taste cakes and discuss options for our big day.
During the tasting we tasted many delicious options to chose from, looked at all of her photos and talked guest count and budgeting.
She is very open to trying any new flavors and design ideas. I told her what I had envisioned and she made it a reality. In the end we chose 2 types of cake in the different tiers: Carrot cake and Genoise cake with Orange Ginger butter cream.
On the wedding day she delivered the cake early, which was great and stuck around to help put flowers from the florist on the top of the cake. All of the guests at our wedding kept on coming up to us and raving about how delicious the cake was and how beautiful it was. They said it was the best wedding cake that they have ever had! And I agree because I have been to a bunch of weddings.
If you want a delicious cake at a reasonable price, not $7 a slice like other places I looked at then go no further than Sweet Encounters!

Rita at Sweet Encounters was such a joy to work with. She showed us lots of pictures of her past cakes, gave us lots of advice and feedback on what cake flavors and styles to choose from and also had many cake flavors to try.
The cake was also delicious and all of the guests at our wedding couldn't stop talking about how beautiful the cake looked and how the quality of the cake was better than any other weddings that they have been to before.

I highly recommend Sweet Encounters as I am very pleased with how my wedding cake turned out. She gave us several cake tastings and told us of the many other options. I also gave her a picture of something similar to what I wanted and we discussed other additions and it turned out better than I even thought it would. It was beautiful and unique and everyone loved the look and the taste. Someone even told me it didn't taste like "normal" wedding cake. She was great to work with and she definitely knows what she's doing and can make recommendations if you're not sure about something. I will definitely be recommending Sweet Encounters to others! Plain and simple, not one piece of wedding cake was left after our reception. Our guests ate the entire cake! I am SO extremely happy with my wedding cake from Sweet Encounters. I met with Rita long before the wedding and told her everything I wanted and she showed me some pictures of her previous cakes and we figured out a rough plan for the cake.
My husband and I got to try several delicious flavors of cake. We went with the rum cake with butter cream icing and french icing in the middle. Rita showed right on time at the wedding and the cake was exactly what I wanted. It was 4 tiered with teal swirls all over and peacock feathers elegantly placed throughout and around the cake.
Everyone commented on how beautiful the cake was and it all got eaten except of course the top layer which we saved. I also can't forget the amazing pastries she made. We ordered 50 petit fours and 50 fruit tarts and they were gorgeous and very tasty! No leftovers!!
The value could not be better either for what we got. It was under 4$ for a generous piece of cake and a very good value for the pastries. Rita also always emailed me back promptly and called me immediately.
She made my day so special and I am so glad I found her to do the cake. I will use her in the future for parties and let all my friends and family know about her.
