Santa Fe Mountain Center

I want to post a HUGE shout out to the staff at the Mountain Center. Our school has benefitted from their work with us in two ways-the Caring Community program with our 5th graders and staff development. The Caring Community program provides 2 visits for students at the Mountain Center where students learned to trust each other, help each other and build confidence in themselves. In the classroom component, students learned about respect, responsibility, support and teamwork. They also learned important lessons about bullying prevention, all while having fun. During the staff development day, the leaders at TMC guided our teachers to feel safe to step out of their comfort zone in interactions with each other and themselves through games, discussions and physical challenges (TMC operates on the philosophy of challenge by choice). Our staff was able to share, help each other and laugh (a lot!) I can’t recommend The Mountain Center enough to anyone who is looking for experiential learning with professional and caring staff.
