We have a 14 month old male Australian shepherd who was a bit of a wild child. Our walks with him could be a struggle with him pulling on his leash & also lunging at every squirrel. His exuberance when meeting people was over the top, and he jumped up on everyone he met. He also did not want to give up any item that he considered to be of high value. Frances changed all of that undesirable behavior. She is so insightful about canine behavior, was patient with us as student clients, & totally helped us correct the issues that we were struggling with. We now have a pup who is lovely to walk, courteous when meeting people, & who will easily drop an item he’s not supposed to have. Training with Frances was invaluable! We’re thankful we found her. "Change your dog, change your life" has been absolutely true for us!!! We got Oakley when she was around 6M old from the shelter and she spent the next 3 years running around freely with us. As we prepared to move to Philly, we knew Oakley would need some help with her manners if she was going to come. After spending 2 weeks at Roots K9 Training I was confident she could thrive as a city dog. Her leash walking skills had improved so much my 4 yr old could hold her leash now!!! Frances is a miracle worker. She literally changed our life with our rescue dog, Payton. Payton was leash, barrier aggressive but could be such a charmer we tried to overlook it-----until we couldn't. Frances showed me how to be a leader with Payton, how to communicate with her thru the leash and how to just "expect" good behavior rather than waiting for the other shoe to fall. The board and train is the way to go-but that's just the start for me. we will definitely go back for some more lessons on walking without a leash and hopefully the pack walks. Thank you Frances! Frances did an amazing job with my puppy, Jenny! I chose the board and train option because I don’t have a lot of free time. It was well worth the investment. There has been such a change in Jenny’s response to commands (especially coming when called). Frances has been quick to respond to any follow up questions I’ve had after the training. I love Roots K9 training! After Harrison got off leash and charged another dog, I reached out to Frances for help. This training has not only helped Harrison’s confidence but it has truly helped mine as well. Before this series, I was hesitant towards Harrison as I didn’t know how to properly communicate with him. Thanks to Frances, I have learned ways to efficiently communicate what I want him to do. My family and friends have complimented Harrison’s good behavior and they are amazed at how much he’s changed in the 6 week course. If you are second guessing this training course, stop right there! Frances knows what she's doing! She's a great trainer and very helpful with tips to help you and your dog along the way! We did a 2 hour walk training with her and all I can say is WOW! We were amazed with how quickly our dog started responding and correcting! She was very knowledgeable and was great at explaining the process and steps and she was prompt to answer any questions we had! We are very pleased with the guidance she gave us and the rest is up to us now to continue enforcing what our dog learned during the training. We cannot thank Frances enough for all she’s done to help us and our Lily. As new dog owners, we were clueless as to how to communicate with her, which led to biting, leash-pulling, destructive behavior in the house - you name it. We researched and tried every avenue we could, but nothing achieved even short term results. After an exhaustive search (and hours and $ spent at other “training”) we contacted Frances. She made the whole process so easy. From the very beginning, we knew she had Lily’s best interest at heart, and knew we shared the same goal - to have Lily be part of our family. Within minutes of her first in-home training session, Lily was cooperating with commands. Each session and homework gave us new tools and increased confidence. After just 6 short weeks, we had the dog we always wanted, and she had owners who could relax at home and take her with us anywhere.
