So happy to be able to get The Jibaro Plate on market days! This is my regular order from their food truck. It consists of a bed of rice and beans topped with pernil (roasted pork), strips of tostones (fried green plaintain) and slices of avocado with tangy aoli drizzle. The combination of flavors is as caribbean as is comes! If you are able to, upgrade/substitute the pork for of their kabob meats. I personally like their lemon pepper shrimp. More...

I work in the public market area, within a short walk of Rob's brick and mortar location. So it's a frequent choice for me and my office mates. After spending time (and coin of the realm) on the gluten-friendly side of the market, the Duchess wanted to survey the gluten-free options that lie kitty-corner to Scotts II and Juan and Maria's Empanadas. We were pleased as punch with the offerings @ Rob's Kabobs. The Duchess loved her Sweet Potato Hash, served with sliced fresh avocado and a fried egg. #1 son joined us, and dug the Huevos Rancheros with a generous pour of Rob's home made hot sauce (muy caliente!). We will be back again on one of our Public Market jaunts! One small note: next time we will specify the eggs over easy... the Duchess likes her yolk! More...

Very tasty. Rob knows his kabobs. Always something different to try. If they have the arancici go for those. Sauce on the steak kabobs is top notch.

The carne asada, steak skewer and chicken skewer all showed that Rob knows what he is doing with meat. The steak was wonderfully caramelized and the sauce they used was savory so the net result wasn't just one note sweetness. The onion slices in between the steak chunks had a good bite to counter balance the meat. The cilantro sauce on the carne asada was bright and so tasty.Rob offered us a beef and cheese empanada to try and it was SO good. Crisp and flaky exterior with just the right ratio of beef and cheese. With a little bit of pique to cut the richness, it was so very delicious.The woman running the cash register was really helpful and kind. They modified their burrito to be less carb heavy at my request with no complaints. I will be back over and over again! So excited for this addition to the market. Currently (Jan 11 2017), they are only open Thurs (9-2pm) and Sat (8-2pm). They plan to extend their hours in the spring. More...
