I had heard about Tyler and that he was a trainer from a friend but I also knew that Bailey's situation was a bit more elaborate than obedience. But when I reached out, there was no hesitation at all! He was asking questions, even gave me some ideas! Well, today Bailey and I met with Tyler!! Bailey's a very anxious boy and hesitant with new people, which made me nervous. Quickly realized I had nothing to be nervous about! Tyler was amazing!! His knowledge, patience and passion all shined through! We brought our pup (10-month old lab) Baxter in to Tyler today, thinking we were going to have an awesome first session of obedience cue training. Baxter had other plans! He was very apprehensive about being around Tyler, to say the least, as he barked nervously for nearly the duration of our session. Tyler, on the other hand, was fantastic! He was very patient with us and Baxter the entire time, while he assessed how to best work with us to move forward with our training. His ability to communicate effectively with both me and Steve, and Baxter, led to a huge success at the end of the session with Baxter finally calming down enough to take a treat by Tyler’s foot! Leaving the session today, I am confident that we can all work together to teach Baxter how to be a model dog citizen in public! Tyler’s knowledge and commitment to helping us with our pup is outstanding, as I am still in disbelief that he wouldn’t charge us for today’s work due to not actually doing any type of training. This is our pup Scout!! Scout has been working with Tyler at Purpose Pups for a couple of weeks now. He instantly took to Tyler and enjoys his time with him. We noticed a change in his behavior instantly. He taught Scout the command of down in about 5 minutes.
