I attended a workshop that given my Ms. Pepping on how to use LinkedIN for the job search. I learned a lot and have been able to help others who are having trouble navigating the hidden job market. I would highly recommend Plum consulting! More...

Great workshop of getting the most out of your LinkedIn profile.  Business owner Lora had amazing tips and tricks only seasoned recruiters would know, and provided great feedback on formatting, content, and structure for your profile.  In addition, she was generous with her time and had plenty of general suggestions about employment seeking for those returning to the workforce after a break.  I would highly recommend taking a class or signing up for resume coaching from Plum. I strongly recommend Plum's LinkedIn workshop, led by Lora Poepping (the firm's president). If you're like me, you may love marketing your clients or customers -- but not yourself. Lora removes all those barriers with savvy advice and a step-by-step approach to crafting your LinkedIn profile. I appreciated that she tailored her approach to business development as well as job-seeking. Lora also advised us on professional, effective ways to connect via LinkedIn, including do's and don'ts. Whether you're a small business owner, exploring new work opportunities, or re-entering the workforce, you'll find this workshop insightful and fun. More...

It feels like a privilege that I finally have the opportunity to praise and speak to the success of my experience with Plum Coaching--I called Lora expecting a fairly transactional conversation about costs and expectations, but I decided to move forward because she genuinely listened to the specifics of my situation. In summary: I was seeking new opportunities in my field of UX design, had built an impressive portfolio but was consistently failing to communicate my work in a way that resonated with hiring managers. I had gone through 12 unsuccessful interviews before I decided it was time to seek some professional and objective advice. What I appreciated most about the mock interview with Lora was that she never tried to steer me away from being myself...she gave me practical tools to make sure that I was able to speak on my own behalf and recognize the intention behind every interview question. Long story short, I found myself with an offer letter about three weeks after our session in a role that is perfect for my professional development. If you're in a tough or confusing spot, don't make decisions based on the cost of services--just find someone who you trust that understands your goals and needs and it will pay off a thousand times in the future. Plum served that purpose for me and I can't reccomend their services highly enough. More...

I called Lora because I'm looking for a contract position in Seattle. She was really sweet and helpful. I couldn't tell from the Yelp reviews that she doesn't do placement work.  She recommended a company for me to get in contact with. Thank you Lora for your help! More...

I attended Plum Consulting's "You Can Use LinkedIn and Love It" workshop, and loved it. Lora is high energy and carried the room, keeping everyone interested and engaged. It is a workshop, so you really are encouraged to bring a laptop and check things out for yourself as she walks you through how you want your profile to appear, how to contact people you are already connected to, and how to make new connections particularly to the people who make hiring decisions.I think you'll get more out of the workshop if you are able to do some homework beforehand, like get a Linked In account, and perhaps read Lora's blog posts. I liked that she asked folks to say what they were hoping to get out of the workshop, and then circled back at the end to make sure these things were covered.People came with many issues: out of the workforce for a decade, new to the Seattle area, trying to transition to a new industry, etc. I felt Lora was deft at handling these particular concerns with strategies that could be used through Linked In.I also have to say that I'm very familiar with software. I'm very familiar with web sites. But, I was not familiar with how recruiters and hiring managers used Linked In, and it was helpful to see things from their perspective. So, if you are holding off on doing this because you think it's just software and just a website, I think you'll still find value. This workshop was the first thing I did with Plum Consulting and Lora, but it left me with a favorable impression of the tenacity to expect from their other services. I had a huge case of nerves about an upcoming interview for a job that I really wanted. I  had been working for myself for over 15 years so was greatly out of practice with interviews. Lora helped calm me down, gave me some great strategies, and helped me present myself in a confident manner. I highly recommend her interview coaching! More...

If you are looking for a job, or just thinking about starting, Lora's LinkedIn Job Search Workshop is a must for you. I attended one of these workshops last night, and she filled the two hours with a wealth of practical information including the ins-and-outs of using the LinkedIn tools, tips on making your profile pop, and how to maximize LinkedIn connections to find those hidden jobs.  Worried about revealing your job search to your current employer?  She told us how to handle that, too.  Her style is energetic, engaging and on-point.  I recommend this workshop to anyone who wants to put their best face forward on LinkedIn. After many years out of the "interviewing scene", I found myself lost and needing guidance as I jumped back into the job hunt.  Lora was AMAZING.  She knew the ins-and-outs of the hiring process and was able to help me anticipate interview questions and best prepare for them.  I left her office feeling like a new woman and with a renewed sense of confidence.  She can even help with the small details...like hooking you up with an incredible personal shopper for an interview outfit!  Lora feels like an old friend from the second you meet her and her insight is invaluable.  I have highly recommended her to friends and colleagues and would not hesitate in seeing her again if I ever need more coaching. I attended a small networking presentation last night by Lora, and I was blown away!  Lora is a friendly, dynamic teacher, and her tips on improving your job search and increasing your visibility online were clear, concrete, and easy to implement.  One of the women in the group has already heard back from a company she wrote to last night using Lora's advice!  If you are searching for an executive position or simply looking to make a career change, I'd give her a call.
