I have been to a few different training classes in my years of owning dogs. I can tell you with out a doubt joann is the best! she makes it fun for the people and the dogs and you also learn at the same time. no physical training methods like other classes I have been to. Great variety and fun atmosphere for a training facility. There is no endless walking in circles like I have experienced at other places. Puppy class and level 2 are off leash and there is a strong focus on relationship and keeping your dog’s attention on you using only positive training methods. My dog has learned so much in just 2 months of classes here. It took almost a year at a different place for my other dog to come this far. The classes are interesting and varied, so you’re not doing the same thing at every class. There are also several class times to choose from and you can go twice a week, so that flexibility works really well with my busy schedule. hi, my name is Vicki and live in Minnesota. I adopted a Korean Jindo, a dog that was in the meat market trade. She was brought over to the U. S. to have a better life. When we got her she was very shy and didn't want to do anything. She was not potty trained and she was not used to being around people and was not socialized with other dogs. We kept the name the Society gave her, Yuri. I knew Yuri would need professional training so I took her to Pack Leader Behavior and Training owned by Joann Neve. The first 2 months all Yuri would do is sit in the corner with me. Joann would come by and talk to Yuri and eventually was able to pet her. Slowly she came out of her shell and started to learn basic commands. She loves people but did not get along with other dogs. Joann taught me how to settle Yuri when she growled at other dogs, biting her legs in frustration. The vet put her on an anti-anxiety medication and Yuri became calmer. As we went to Joann's school Yuri became more sure of herself. She has been able to let her meet other dogs on loose leashes and she has actually been able to go off leash and play and run around with other dogs. Joann and I have taken a scared unsocialized 2 year old puppy and turned her into a dog who loves to play and run free. She no longer sits in the corner with her head down. She knows how to sit, stay, follow, find it, touch, leave it and play with other dogs off leash. She loves people and goes up to them to be petted and get hugs. I love Yuri so much and look forward to many years with my baby. Thank you AHS for rescuing Yuri and bringing her here for me to adopt and love. Also thank you Joann Neve, trainer and owner of Pack Leader Behavior and Training for all the work you did in teaching me how to train Yuri to become the happy puppy that she is and for helping her to forget the horrible beginning of her life and give her a new life filled with hugs and kisses and obedience.Yuri will have a beautiful and spoiled life with me and my family. I came to training with dogs that were pretty well trained elsewhere but we were looking for some new challenges. Joann's training methods, games, and insight have been a breath of fresh air and it keeps us on our toes. My dogs absolutely love coming and so do we! Every time we come to class we do something new which keeps the dogs thinking, learning, and not anticipating a specific routine. Joann takes time to help each and every person and dog with whatever they are struggling with. She cares about each and every person and dog and their success with training. Joann is a dog trainer that teaches in class style but also brings the class down too the individual dog. Her vast knowledge of understanding a dogs behavior, their responding to different situations, their eyes, ears, there owners, and other dogs, is a very BIG part of trusting Joann as a trainer.

She came to our house and trained us about being good dog owners and how to handle our very intelligent, protective, scare-d-cat dog. She taught us not to give up. Be patient with ourselves and confident in our rank in the family.

Joann, I think I am the alpha by the way.

I am so thankful that she is a trainer that we invested in. Buddy is a better family member because she took the time to share her knowledge, patience and understanding with us.

My mini schnauzer Bailey has gone through Puppy training and is now in the Obedience 1 level . This school is perfect for Bailey. She started off being timid around the other dogs but with gentle encouragement and tips from Joann, Bailey is finding her grit. Joann not only instructs us in class, but provides us with simple exercises to do at home such as 'go find it', 'leave it' and 'focus'. Great value for training a dog. $100 for a month and attend up to 3 classes a week. Joann is very knowledgeable and great with the dogs. Joann is an excellent trainer! She truly cares about dogs and what you learn in class are skills that every dog needs to have when interacting with you, other humans and other dogs as well. Joann has gone above and beyond in helping us to train our dog. I have now taken both of my dogs to Pack Leader, My terrier mix did OE1 and she is a much better dog because of what we both learned! I am currently bringing my Mini Aussie to Puppy Headstart. Joann has been very patient with getting him more socialized. I highly recommend either of these classes to anyone. I cannot express just how fortunate I am to have found Joann and her excellent training. In 6 sessions of puppy class my 5 mo. old puppy Rico has earned his AKC Star Puppy Award! I have been with pack leader for a couple months now and my dog has gone from one or two commands to passing her CGC in less then four months. she started the school very shy pulling on the leash and other problems. All those problems are all gone now. I cant say enough good things about this school. the classes are very flexible the price is unbeatable and the instructor knows her stuff. there is no doubt I will bring all my future dogs to pack leader! I have been taking my dog, Missy, to Pack Leader Behavior & Training and have worked with Joann for several months. We have absolutely loved the time and attention from such a caring and knowledgeable trainer. Joann's technique uses evidenced based training with reward that is a basic concept in psychology and is extremely effective when used consistently. Joann encourages the bond between the dog and their human for the foundation of training. When we had difficulty in training a certain concept, Joann had alternative methods that helped Missy be successful. Additionally, Joann's knowledge of dog personality and characteristics helped me determine Missy's ability.
