Very likely James saved our son's life. Our son had a serious drug problem, several overdoses, several tours of rehab, two tours of wilderness therapy. My wife and I would remind ourselves almost daily to steel ourselves, that any day might well be our son's last day on earth. We were beyond distraught, this drug use had been going on for years and we were at our wit's end. James came into our lives and not only did James bring us as parents comfort and hope, he connected with our son, and through James' firm approach taught him to have hope for himself. What do you love most about your job?
I love knowing that I can find a way to be a positive influence and teach anyone, who is willing to learn, exactly what they need to think, say, or do in any scenario. I love being a part of the solution and not the problem.
What inspired you to start your own business?
While studying in college, it became very clear to me that I wanted to utilize the challenges and learnings I experienced to guide people through their own professional and personal development. Different opportunities kept arising, throughout the years, and I honored them by doing my best. This eventually led to the development of Mentors & More, an organization that provides leadership training that nearly anyone can benefit from.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
Other than offering virtual services, I now wear a mask and meet in outdoor areas, more than in the past, where I was mostly in the home and office.
Parent Coaching
Parent Coaching involves the process of learning, practicing and mastering the ability to more effectively parent your children. This occurs through first identifying and understanding the factors that contribute to undesirable behaviors and results. Secondly, we develop both proactive and responsive strategies to improve your connection with your children and also to guide them to learn the 5 SKILLS OF SELF-LEADERSHIP.
Youth Mentoring
Youth Mentoring involves a partnership between a well-trained Mentors & More team member and a youth with behavioral challenges. Through a dynamic process of role modeling, teaching and coaching, the youth is provided with the opportunity to learn, practice and master the necessary skills to improve functioning both as an individual as well as within relationships.
Life Launch Program
This aspect of Mentors & More offers a unique niche of leading both emerging adults (over 18) and parents through “The Launching Process”. This involves guiding your child from being at home and struggling to develop their own “life” and learning the skills necessary to be more confident, capable, resourceful, resilient, and responsible self-leaders.
Many families struggle through this difficult transition and are not exactly sure what to do. We can help you discern between skill strength, weakness, and limitation and provide the optimum “messaging” to promote greater functioning for every involved family member.
This program guides young adults and families to develop a better balance between independent and interdependent functioning.
Life Coaching
Mentors & More provides life coaching to individuals through a flexible and versatile approach to your specific coaching needs. We offer 1:1 sessions through video conferencing, within your home, office or at our office space in Del Mar or Irvine.
