My partner and I have come here every 2 weeks for the last 2 years and we noticed from last few times that the quality of massages has gone down. They conduct Traditional Thai massages with a lot of stepping but not mixed with enough other techniques to break down the tightness of the muscles. I have been going to La Nee for a long time. They provide good service at affordable price. I normally call them and the lady at the front desk has been able to find a slot for me on the same day. Like many have said, if you don't see an opening online, give them a call. I usually bike there so parking is no issue for me. More...

I my significant other and I have probably had 30 - 40 massages here between the two of us over the last 8 years. They have always been wonderful, until tonight. My husband booked a 2 hour massage for me because I was in a lot of pain. I normally request "medium" pressure but today, since I was particularly tight, I requested "strong" pressure.The massage was worse than mediocre. It was bad. Despite requesting "strong" pressure, I had to ask the therapist multiple times to increase the pressure because it felt like a Swedish massage. It was clear the massage therapist had no interest in being there or giving a massage. She was checked out and not paying attention to my body or what she was doing. Each time she moved to a new part of my body, she did the same single stroke repeatedly and without paying attention to how my muscles were responding. Also, there was a woman in the space next to me who was speaking very loudly to her massage therapist the entire time. It was the opposite of relaxing. At the end, I told the manager about my experience and asked her to either refund the massage, or comp it and book another one for me tomorrow as my body was still extremely tight and I really need a massage. I am not after getting my money back - I am after getting the service I requested and paid for. Here is how the conversation went.Mgr: I cannot do that. The best I can do is take $20 off. The owners do not allow me to give any more than that. I'm not the owner. I just do what they tell me. Me: ok, can you please have the owner call me then?Mgr: They won't do that. They won't want to talk. Me: you're saying they are not interested in hearing feedback from loyal customers?Mgr: no, they just trust me to make all the decisions.Me: But you just said they don't allow you to give any more than $20 because you're just the manager. This Salon is very friendly and professional. I've been coming here since January and I always book with " NJ". He has completely fixed my issues with so many areas but especially my legs and hips after an injury that had me bedridden. He has an intuitive healing ability and a keen touch of "just the right pressure". I always indicate the strongest pressure for the best results. Best Thai massage I've ever had. I would usually go to Suchada Thai in Mission Bay, but the last massage therapist kept farting, once while squatting on my back. Pui is great at La Nee. She listens and asks questions. Her pressure is consistent. I often ask for varied pressure in different areas, and Pui respected my requests. This place is a treasure! Excellent service, ambiance, safety protocols and every therapist is top notch. Thai massage is not for everyone but it's definitely worth trying g at least once. I had come here because I had a birthday present voucher that was good for two massages. Upon arrival at the chicken desk the lady looked up the computer and said that yes, it's indeed good for two massages and including tip of $24. She proceeded to say that's the tip amount is going to be put towards this massage, if that would be OK and I was confused because the massage is $80 itself, and I thought it would be weird for my husband to pay for the tip for only one massage when he said that it was good for two. I said OK nonetheless because she was already talking to the masseuse and gave me the shoes to change into, and I'm new to the US so I always freak out when people ask me to calculate tip. That's a 30% tip for a service that didn't even start. It just left a bad taste in my mouth that she pushed to have that kind of tip all on the first massage (before it started) and told me that for the next massage I would just have to pay tip separately.
