itsaBelly saved us!  When our first child was born we were immediately overwhelmed by the gravity of raising an infant.  Despite reading all the popular parenting books, we got home from the hospital and had no idea what we were doing.  It was terrifying.  In a desperate sleepless stupor we starting searching for doulas... something that had seemed frivolous and unnecessary before the baby was born.  Deana was immediately responsive, understanding, helpful and kind.  Despite a full schedule she coordinated to have 7 day a week nighttime doula coverage to help us get some sleep.  Starting THE NEXT DAY!  Most people plan months in advance for this type of service.  Another plus: their fixed rate pricing is very reasonable especially compared to other local doulas.  They don't ask where you live and set rates based on whether they think you can afford more (which other services do).  Thank god for itsaBelly not taking advantage of new parents in a desperate situation.It might seem scary to hand over your newborn to a stranger for the night.  And it was.  But fortunately Melissa and Elizabeth are two of the kindest, most knowledgeable and most trustworthy people I have ever met.  They taught us how to swaddle and burp and soothe.  They showed me different breastfeeding techniques and sent links to articles or local resources to answer all my ridiculous questions.  They coached us through post partem issues and provided support that no family member could ever have provided.  On top of their expertise it was just really nice to see a friendly face and have someone to talk with when feeding a baby multiple times in the middle of the night.  Now that the "dark days" are behind us I can't imagine how we would have made it without Elizabeth and Melissa.  We absolutely 100% recommend itsaBelly and their expert doulas!  Call them now!
