What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
Lighting. Lighting the scene correctly is number ONE.
Being able to eliminate distracting elements while capturing the central event of each photo. Why did you press the shutter button? Is that reason apparent in the photo?
Being able to anticipate the decisive moment so you can capture it.
Knowing your equipment so you can work to its strengths.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
Where will your photos be seen? What is the most important thing you want me to capture? Is it a mood? a texture? How do you want these photos to make you feel? What do you want to say to anyone who sees these images?
What do you love most about your job?
Turning an event or home or person into a work of art. I can't draw a stick man but with my cameras I can create an image of your celebration, portrait, still life, landscape or castle that will move you and those you share it with.
What inspired you to start your own business?
When I retired from a long career at the beginning of 2022 I intended to do other things but my lifelong love of photography started to demand my attention so I gave in to it.
Why should our clients choose you?
1) In real estate photography, I insist on having skin in the game. If your listing doesn't close, you don't pay me. I collect at closing.
2) In other photography venues, I am technically among the best but working with my subject always trumps the technical.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
I am fully vaccinated with two boosters. I am also one of the lucky few who have been directly exposed and tested but never been positive. If requested, I will wear a mask.
