These are awesone people....they work together sometmes...and you are always laughing.....and just feel at home here.... Woody took on a real challenge ...had bigger well known salons just ignore my requests for the blonde hair I wanted. .and my hair was colored for what the designers wanted Ash, Red, Gold, etc.was so tramatized by the last person turning my hair grey. I quit having my hair colored for 6 months..then I came across Uptown Hair Design.They all listened to me and put their heads together....Woody not knowing me but knowing I was no longer trusting...he listened to what I wanted and OMG first time doing my hair put it back to what I wanted !!!This maybe a very small shop...but the 3 designers are awesome people..very caring...very nice and so much experience and the atmosphere is uplifting....you leave this salon feeling as though you have known them forever.Blondes .....if you are extremely picky about your color COME HERE...you will never believe the caring these people have in making your hair the color you want !!! I started coming here several years ago when it was just Woody. He has worked so hard to expand and grow his business, and it thrives based on his talent for not just hair but identifying others with that same gift. Beyond Woody, Stephanie and Amanda are both amazing at what they do! I haven't worked with Brittany yet, but I have full confidence that she'll be just as great as the other three based on the standard this place holds itself to. They are a wonderful staff. This salon is amazing! It's everything I've ever wanted in a salon! I love how personable the salon is and you get to sit and talk/get to know everyone who works there. I went there for the first time today and I just felt a sense of comfort. I've never had a consistent place to have my hair done as I am very hard to please with coloring, but Amanda did an AMAZING job coloring my hair! I had been looking for a new salon/stylist for a little while now. I tested the waters a while ago just starting with a blow out which turned out beautifully. Fast forward to today when I went in for what I believe is the biggest hair transformation I've had. My hair was ridiculously long and in horrible condition. For years I was working with a stylist to get to an ultra light, almost platinum blonde and we never got there after several years. AFTER ONE VISIT I was given the results I had been trying to obtain and I could not be happier! From the moment you walk in, everyone is so warm and welcoming and you just feel at home. I went in for a cut & color with Stephanie after being referred by a coworker. I only make the time to get my hair done a few times a year. I also have been searching for a hair home since my friend moved after being my hair stylist for 15 years, I found my place! She made my "mom hair" look modern & sexy again! The color is absolutely fabulous!!! & the cut is fun & sassy. She even braided my 5 year old daughters hair for fun. I won't go anywhere else as long as I live in Columbus! I have gone now probably about 5 times. Every time I go, even though it is just a trim or cut, they treat me the same as any other customers coming in there to do all of the expensive hair dye or extensions :-) Seriously they are all awesome!

Today was my 1st experience at Uptown Hair Design and I couldn't be happier. They are super friendly and make you feel welcomed as soon as you walk through the door. The space is kept very clean and the atmosphere is upbeat and positive. The chairs for shampooing and hair cuts are super comfortable. The hair artists are all very talented. Wow! I love my new haircut! I've been growing out my gray hair, wearing hats during the transition, and finally decided it was time to go short. I'm very particular about my hair and rarely do anything with it. I'm ver skeptical of hair salons too. But I took a chance on this place. When I got adventurous and used box dye on my hair, disaster ensued. I booked an appointment here to correct the problem. Not only was Amanda super friendly and up beat, she made me feel like she actually had my interests in mind and did an amazing job! Woody, Steph, Amanda and now their new young gal Brittney are the BEST at what they do! ALWAYS offer suggestions when you ask for them, never question anything you really want and do their best to make it happen, Herb (he's the social butterfly & helps run the business) is always full of conversation and we always exchange ideas talking. Overall, in my 50 years, UPTOWN HAIR DESIGN is the ultimate BEST place ever to get a haircut, dye job, perm or anything else you can imagine hair wise. (They also do a good job at waxing!) My teenagers, ages 17 & 19, ONLY want to go to Woody's Uptown Hair Design, and so does my grandkids, ages 7 & 9, and my senior mother and myself only want Woody & Steph as well. Our whole family will accept nothing less :-) Been going there for 4 years, never had a bad experience, only great ones. They are the BEST at what they do, and they excel at cuts/dye's and styling! Well above Kenneth's and others, and WELL BELOW those other hair salon prices! I'm a loyal customer as long as they are in business, and if Woody ever moves, I'm following him & his crew!NOW.. they do have "walk ins", but really, you need to book a time! There is just not enough room for me to write about how in love with Woody I am. He, absolutely, is my new favorite guy. He is not only highly talented in hair transformation, but he is highly talented in character. His personality is rich and honest and sincere and humble and charming. He not only makes your hair feel beautiful, but he leaves your heart smiling also. An instant bond with this guy, and now he's forever stuck with me. I also adore Herb, he'll make you feel like part of the family. Like you've known him forever and the door at Thanksgiving is open just for you. And Stephanie, gosh she is gorgeous and sweet and also talented. If you are going anywhere else to have your hair done, you are hands down and absolutely going to the wrong place.
