Collette was great with my dog Dougie who is a rescue and quite shy. It has been many years since I have trained a puppy. What do you love most about your job?
I love seeing how my clients get excited at their dogs' progress and that no two days are the same.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I have always had dogs in my life and love all animals. I had been training marine animals as my career for almost 30 years in South Africa. When I moved to the USA and saw how big the pet industry was, I knew it was a no brainer to train dogs.
Why should our clients choose you?
I am versatile, fun and can think on my feet. I will help you train your dog to suit your situation. It wont need to be weekly and we go at your pace.

N/A but if a client requests protection I'm happy to wear a mask, sanitize or work outdoors.
Private dog & puppy training
I offer private dog & puppy training in your home and work with you and anyone in your household over the age of 12. It is important that everyone communicates effectively with each other and your dog to optimize consistency.
We address some of the following: basic principles of training, attention, name recognition, touch, find it, leave it, checking in, mat/ place, loose leash walking, no jumping up, no counter surfing, sit, lay down, recall, wait, distraction, distance and duration.
Puppy training:
Early puppyhood is a critical time for socialization and learning. Experiences during this time set the stage for the rest of your puppy's life. Just because your puppy is undergoing vaccinations doesn't mean that they can't be trained at home and be exposed to safe experiences.
The series includes 6 x 1 hour private puppy training sessions.
You will learn to:
*Use positive reinforcement training with your puppy.
*Prevent and manage undesired puppy behaviors.
*Understand that socialization experiences are positive for your pup.
*Understand normal canine behavior.
*Read canine body language.
*Build a lifelong bond with your puppy.
Your puppy will learn to:
*Be comfortable around new and novel stimuli, people and sounds.
*Accept handling and restraint to become great veterinary patients.
*Be independent. This is important to prevent separation anxiety.
*Explore their environment at their own pace.
*Learn to share or trade valued items (chew toys, foods, furniture).
*Foundation skills that will help you live happily together.
