I had such a great experience with Nguyen Ha, who did my hair and makeup for my wedding ceremony in early December. At my trial she looked over the inspiration photos I had and was able to match the natural-but-made-up feel I was looking for. She also made some helpful suggestions based on the ceremony/timeline I was having. I don't wear makeup so I initially thought the makeup was too bold, but she assured me it would look great in photos - and she was right!I had a morning ceremony so Nguyen and her assistant were at the studio at 6AM to do H/MU for me, my mother, and maid of honor. I was a bridesmaid for a socially distanced COVID wedding, and Tam was my makeup artist. Tam is super professional and sweet and made sure to extra sanitize and clean as she worked. She has wonderful skill and talent, and I absolutely loved my look! I've had my makeup done by other artists, but Tam is the best one I've had. I didn't have too much caked on makeup, and my eyes looked so beautiful, she highlighted them so wonderfully. She only glanced at the inspiration pic twice and was able to adjust it to suit my face/ eye shape. She also did my hair, and to be fair, since my hair doesn't hold curl, she applied a lot of hairspray. She teased and curled my hair, and it lasted until 2am (makeup began at 830am). She even touched up my makeup and hair throughout the time the bride was having her makeup done (I was snacking after getting my makeup done). This review is for Ngan Bui. I'm so glad I asked her to do my hair and makeup for my wedding! Ngan is very sweet, friendly, and easy to work with. Especially during this pandemic, she was understanding and flexible with the postponement and changes I had. She always maintained professionalism from the early days of booking all the way to the finishing touches of hair and makeup on my wedding day.When we had a trial a week before the wedding, she referenced my inspiration photos and listened to my makeup preferences, but also gave suggestions that were super helpful. She followed safety measures to keep everyone safe with mask wearing and sanitizing her equipment both during the trial and day of the event. Ngan did an amazing job on my make-up and hair for the wedding back in November. During the trial, I sent her a couple photos of what I wanted. She was super flexible and was willing to try the different hairstyle. My main concern was that I had so many pimples on my chin because of the mask However, she was able to cover it all up. I hired Nguyen Ha to do my hair and makeup for my wedding this past week. When I contacted her in September, she scheduled a trial for the following weekend and we talked over what kind of look I wanted. She was really easy to work with and incorporated all of my feedback! The day of the wedding she arrived at the hotel at 8am and we were finished by 10. I couldn't believe how flawless my makeup was. I don't normally wear a lot, and she was able to create a look that worked for the event and in photos, while at the same time, making sure I still felt like myself when I looked in the mirror. Cherie Vo did my makeup for my mini backyard wedding late September and she is absolutely amazing! From answering all my questions via email and texts to making me feel comfortable and at ease on my wedding day, I would highly recommend her! She actually drove all the way back from Santa Cruz to San Jose to do my hair and makeup, even though she had a family trip out there the same weekend! I feel lucky to find A-list Makeup to have my bridal makeup and hair done. I'm from Texas and I came to San Jose for pre-wedding photoshoot so I didn't know which makeup artist to choose from. I came across A-List makeup website, there are so many beautiful and talented makeup artists on the team. I was impressed with DanTam's portfolio so I reached out to her. Despite the pandemic and Calif wildfire at that time, I appreciate her quick response and her advice for my makeup time and styles. I ended up paying the extra cost for a makeup/hair trial which I HIGHLY recommend. She was patient and willing to try out multiple hairstyles to completion so that I could see and decide how I'd like my hair on my wedding day. She showed me multiple styles for my makeup which was helpful for me because I don't know much about makeup, so it's difficult for me to answer questions like "What kind of makeup do you want?" "Do you like darker or lighter shades?" "Do you like dramatic or natural wings?", but having Krystal show me different styles helped me to choose.Krystal is talented and has a lot of experience. She has done makeup for fashion shows and wedding makeup for many, many years and her experience is so helpful for calming you on your day of! You are in good hands if you hire Krystal as your hair/makeup artist.For COVID, Krystal did two tests: one before our trial and one before our wedding day and she informed us of her negative results which was also calming for us to know. She still wore masks and sanitized all brushes beforehand.She has a very warm and sweet demeanor. She's lovely to be around. Scheduling with her was easy as well. She communicated quickly via email (less than a day to respond). I had many questions and she responded to every single one of them graciously! My makeup and hair held up the entire day even after multiple ceremonies (2 tea ceremonies and one church ceremony). It looked great in all sorts of lights - indoor, outdoor. I reached out to A List makeup about 1 month before the wedding and Nguyen was quick to respond with a very fair quote. On the day of the wedding, Nguyen arrived early in the morning to help me get me ready for the wedding. I explained that I wanted to look natural in my wedding photos and she did such an amazing job. I also showed her a picture of the hair do I wanted and she was able to replicate it exactly like the way I wanted. I got my bridal hair and makeup for my engagement and wedding day done by Ngan. She is amazing!! I was so happy with both my engagement look and my wedding day look. I normally do not wear makeup so I couldn't tell Ngan what would be a good look on me. I sent some photos I found on Pinterest to Ngan and put my faith in her to make me look good. I looked and felt beautiful on my engagement and wedding day. I received so many compliments! Ngan was very flexible and accommodating with my schedule changes due to covid-19. It was very easy to communicate with her via email. She gives off a good vibe and positive energy, which makes her very likable. Ngan made me feel very comfortable as well, which was one of my concerns. I was anxious before my first makeup session, but Ngan has her way of making you feel comfortable. She was very kind and gentle the entire time. I liked that she told me what she was doing every step of the way and asked me what I like or didn't like.I was pretty impressed with the precautions Ngan took in regards to covid-19. Before entering the house, Ngan had her mask on. She washed her hands before she started working. When she was working on my makeup, she had her mask on the entire time plus a face shield. She used tissue to touch my face instead of using her hands. She sprayed her makeup utensils with isopropyl alcohol before she used them on me. The liquid makeup was poured onto a tray so that there is no sharing from person to person. And she cleaned her makeup brushes beforehand.Dan Tam did my bridesmaids' hair and makeup on the day of the wedding. They looked gorgeous! She spent one hour on each bridesmaid. I still can't believe how efficient she was. Dan Tam also had an unexpected request from my grandma to help her do her hair. Dan Tam put her hair in a bun, but also did something to make her hair look way fuller. I loved my grandma's look, it was very classy. I was glad she got to get a little pampering done after a sleepless night.I highly and sincerely recommend Ngan and Dan Tam as your stylist. Nguyen Ha has been absolutely amazing throughout this crazy pandemic wedding process! She was very flexible and accommodating with all the COVID-19 changes. She followed all of our safety precautions and did an amazing job for the make up trial and wedding day! I didn't have any bridesmaids at the wedding (so saddd), but she helped make my mom and my new mom look absolutely gorgeous with makeup and hair. My mom was more specific with her style and Nguyen was able to cater to her wishes. She listened intently and gave good feedback on what would look good. I, myself, know nothing about makeup or what would look good, so Nguyen held my hand (figuratively) throughout the entire process. She tried two different styles on me during the trial and explained everything so I could understand the process. If I didn't like something, she would change it until I was comfortable. She was never pushy or condescending. She was very sweet and kind. Nguyen made my wedding morning so carefree and smooth. She arrived on the dot and finished on time. I didn't feel rushed or concerned about timing. She even stayed a little longer to do makeup/hair touch ups and apply the lipstick/mascara AFTER I put on my dress. She really went above and beyond. She even shared with me which eyebrow shade/brush she used for me since I've had a hard time finding the right combo! Don't think twice, hire these incredibly talented ladies to look your best on your wedding day! Cherie, Vicky, Jennifer, and Vy did such an amazing job with natural, yet glam wedding day hair/makeup for me and my large bridal party. Cherie Vo specifically did my hair & makeup. I loved working with her, and she is so meticulous in applying makeup/doing hair. She also made the entire process as stress free as possible, making me feel at ease and like I was chatting with an old friend - having kind and calming people around on your wedding day is so important! After multiple events & a long night of dancing, my makeup & hair was still fully intact! Do not book Marilyn Nguyen. I booked a bridal makeup trial with her and stated my wedding date with the intention of booking her for my wedding day if things went well during the trial. With only a couple days prior to our scheduled trial appointment, she cancelled on me saying that she already had someone book with her on that day, even after we made arrangements. Ngan Bui truly helped me feel like a beautiful bride. From the minute I met her for my hair and makeup trial, she made me feel at ease in her hands. I struggled trying to decide what I wanted my hair and makeup to look like, but she helped me find the look. Ngan took a look at my normal day-to-day look and makeup styles that I like for more special occasions, worked her magic, and nailed the look. I loved her suggestions (hello double stacked falsies!), the colors complimented my complexion well, and I was left feeling fabulous. We realized during my trial that my hair would be a little difficult to work with the day of the wedding - I have straight, silky, non-dyed hair (and a LOT of it) that does not hold curls well at all. On the day of my wedding, she took her time to do everything she could to help my hair stay curled/styled and last through the day - she hairsprayed, curled, and pinned my hair to help it set thoroughly before moving on to produce a gorgeous half-up/half-down look. Aside from her talent in creating my wedding day look, Ngan was so incredibly kind and made sure that I was comfortable through the whole process. This review is for Nguyen Ha (Ti)! I was originally not going to do my makeup for my wedding as I wanted a more natural look. But after some convincing and scouring through Instagram I found Nguyen. At the trial, I showed her what I wanted and she heard my concerns, and what I ended up with looked beautiful!! For my wedding day she had my 2 bridesmaids and myself for hair and makeup and she did a phenomenal job with all 3 and in the time allotted. She responded quickly to my emails and was very punctual on the appointment day. I don't know much about makeup and I didn't have strong preferences apart from it looking nice, soft, and natural, so I fully trusted myself with her. This review is for the fabulous Julie Cao! I was initially recommended A-List Makeup by one of my friends who used one of their artists. I looked through the different artist portfolios and settled upon Julie for my wedding hair and makeup because I loved the look she was able to create!I scheduled my trial hair and makeup in July 2019, several months before my wedding in December 2019, because I also wanted to get my engagement photos done. I didn't have a specific look in mind, other than wanting to look somewhat natural and having my hair down in romantic curls of some sort. I don't typically wear makeup, so I really had no input. Julie was able to put me at ease. Since I wasn't planning on wearing any jewelry, hair accessories, or a veil, I knew my hair and makeup would be front and center. Julie was able to create a beautiful look for me with which I felt comfortable and was able to adjust from trial to engagement.On the day of the wedding, Julie changed a few things up based on my feedback from the trial. My skin is both dry and oily in certain places, and I typically get a sheen at the end of the day, so Julie adjusted with airbrush makeup. My hair was also a little shorter than it was at the trial, and I wanted larger curls, so she adjusted the style of loose curls. I loved the amazing work she did; my hair held the curls the entire night (which never happens), and my makeup stayed put all night as well! I worked with Ngan, Nancee, and Thuy on my wedding day in April 2019. They are absolute professionals. Ngan took care of my bridal makeup and hair, and Nancee and Thuy did a terrific job on my 6 bridesmaids and my mother. While I wasn't very comfortable (and probably resistant/skeptical) with the amount of makeup on my face (we spent 2.5 hours!), I can't help but now admire how I looked on my wedding day through my photos. Ngan knows makeup that looks good in Asian faces. She's terrific with brows, eyes, cheeks, and lips. I personally thought the foundation was a lot and made my face look flat, so I wiped some of it off to feel more like myself. Also the eyelashes were a bit painful - it would've been better to do individual lashes on.My hair held up and was perfect.As for my bridesmaids- they looked really good. Nancee and Thuy were on time and very professional. Chau did my cousin's makeup for her wedding day, and when I saw her work, I knew I had to book her for my own wedding as well. She was the first vendor I had to lock in (aside from the venue) for my big day, and I'm glad I did because I was extremely happy with her work! I had never felt more beautiful than on my wedding day, and it's because of Chau. She is absolutely amazing and a true artist. She has the perfect eye for what looks good on brides, and works hard to achieve that look. She is aware of what features need to be enhanced. I have had my makeup professionally done for several occasions in the past and no one's work close to compares to what Chau can do. Tam did my hair and makeup for my wedding in October, and I am so happy I found her! What's nice about A-List makeup is they have price tiers so you can select what you want to pay, and I was really happy that I could find something within my budget, and within my bridesmaids budgets. For me (bride) it was $100 for hair + $100 for makeup, so $200 total for bridal which is so so reasonable. For bridesmaids it was $50 for hair + $50 for makeup. I looked through the different portfolios and chose Tam because she was within that price tier and her work looked amazing, on lots of different girls. I'm so happy I chose her!Tam is always really responsive and very helpful with my random little questions. The trial run went really well and she's so easy to talk to! I don't wear a lot of makeup so she suggested going natural ish which is exactly what I wanted. Once I was happy with my makeup she had me take a picture of the lipstick so I could order it to have it with me at the wedding for touch ups and I thought that was super smart. I showed her pictures of my hair ideas and she made it look EVEN BETTER than those pictures, so quickly! She even helped me find a hairpiece on Amazon so I could pick something before the wedding. Day of the wedding she and her assistant came to the house we were renting and set up their stuff really quickly, then got to work on the bridesmaids. They all looked so flawless! Tam and her assistant really listened to what each girl wanted which was really nice to see. Tam gets to me and totally nails it, I didn't think it was possible but it turned out even nicer than the trial.
