I have a 5 year old, 85 pound pit bull/boxer mix named Bella, who is as sweet as they come, but she was a beast on the leash. ...pulling and choking herself making walks really unpleasant for everyone. We tried many different things with her, but nothing seemed to be working. We had Kristy over for 1 hour for training. She gave us some new tools to work with and some new techniques and literally I was able to walk her within 15 minutes!! She is like a new dog, and we are BOTH loving the walks together. I HIGHLY recommend Kristy for any dog training that you need. She is fantastic!!! More...

Q&As

I love seeing how the quality of life for both the dog and the family change after training. It is a much less stressful environment and they can do activities with their dog that they never could before.

I have been working professionally with dogs and their owners since 2012. Through my work as the owner of Beyond Barks, a pet sitting company, I saw a need within my clients for guidance with training and behavior modification. This need launched a drive within her and she enrolled with Catch Canine Academy and graduated in 2015. Subsequently, she started her dog training company, Consistent Canine.

There is not a one size fits all approach to dog training as every family and dog is different as well as their needs. We will work together as a team to determine what is the best approach and skills for your dogs to learn so that you can live in harmony.

Services

We will meet with you at your home and develop a plan of action for your dog. At the consultation, we will address the areas of concern and come up with a solution. All private lesson clients must have an initial consultation.

The number of lessons will depend on the behaviors that we are working on.

Our board and train programs allow your dog to develop a strong foundation of well-mannered behaviors in various environments. We will spend the time and repetitions to train your dog and in return, this will save you time and energy. Once they have completed the selected program we will show you how to implement the training skills they have learned at your home and in real-life situations. Your dog will live in the home of our trainer, learn obedience skills, manners and take field trips to different places to practice under distractions. We only accept a few dogs at a time to guarantee individualized attention and training. They will receive many opportunities to exercise, play and socialize in a supervised environment with a variety of different animals.

Service Dogs perform life-changing tasks for a person with a disability. They are individually trained to mitigate their handler's disability and make everyday tasks easier. There are many different types of Service Dogs including Brace/Mobility Assistance (BMSD) Dogs, Guide Dogs, Diabetic Alert Dogs (DAD), Hearing Alert Dogs, Seizure Response Dogs, Psychiatric Service (PSD)Dogs, Severe Allergy Alert (AAD) Dogs, Medical Alert (MAD)Dogs and Autism Assistance Dogs. We can help in finding the right breed and temperament based on your specific needs. The International Association of Canine Professionals (IACP) Service Dog Committee has put together an informational page to answer many of the questions that you may have.

Animal-assisted therapy is an amazing way to volunteer with your dog. Do you think your dog has what it takes? We can assist you in your journey to become a therapy team handler and with any training, your dog may need. Once your dog is ready we help you find an upcoming team training class to become registered. Pet Partners is a great place to start learning how therapy dogs can make a difference in the lives of many. Once you are a registered team with an approved organization you can apply for an AKC Therapy Dog Title.
