Clix has been doing our grand children's Christmas photos for 4 years. They are very friendly, tolerant of wardrobe changes, and additional family presence. They are good at eliminating the undesirable photos and modifying the best shots. You pay for the shots you like, no setting fees, no additional fees for extra children. The membership provides discounts. They have printed my photos on short notice, even when they were backed up. I highly recommended! More...

We went to Portrait Innovations in Roanoke prior to visiting Clix. We were not happy with our experience at Portrait Innovations which is why we decided to try another option. The difference was night and day. Clix had multiple studios set up with different seasonal scenes which were just what we wanted. There were so many choices we couldn't even get to all the choices we liked. Our photographer was Whitney and she was really wonderful with our girls. She helped them into poses, but more than that she generally interacted with them in a way that encouraged them to look their best. She was good to also ensure their hair was still neat and took care with the details of the photos.If you are willing to go with the single pose package (we've never been able to do that with portrait sittings) and are willing to put up with the mass market feel of Portrait Innovations, you will probably pay less there than Clix (single pose will cost about $20 at Portrait Innovations and $50 at Clix). But, if you want a really good experience where the photographer will take their time with you and potentially multiple poses and a CD of the photos to print yourself, you'll probably be happier at Clix and it will be comparable or possibly a little cheaper to boot. I just took my daughter Chelsea to have pictures taken at Clix for the second time. Another wonderful experience. Cassie, the photgrapher, took us straight back. Gave me all the time in the world to dress my daughter in her outfit and then of course asked what kind of background I wanted, etc. My daughter being 1 wasnt exactly staying still and was trying to get into everything ,but the photographer managed to get some very good pictures in between scooping her back up and putting her where she was suppossed to be. I like the fact that they take so many pictures to choose from because you are bound to find alot that are good and what you are looking for.Waiting for a camera to be lowered and raised isnt an issue here because they hold the cameras and get fabulous pictures alot quicker. I also bought the Clix club membership that made my order cheaper than what it would have been had I not bought it and it is good for two years!! The people there are genuinely friendly and really like their job. Ive been to many other places where the people seem aggravated and rushed and run off everytime the phone rings . I always have had convenient appointment times and got in the next day after calling to make my appointment.After choosing the poses I wanted, my pictures were ready in 15 mintues on very nice thick photograph paper, cut and put in plastic in a nice envelope ready to take home. When I first got to Clix for my appointment, they took us right back to the studio to take the pictures, which is great when you have a 7 month old . They were very attentive and asked what I wanted or was interested in. It didnt take very long to get some very nice pictures.I liked the fact that the photographer held the camera in her hand and was able to get into postitions quickly to catch the best shots, thus eliminating a camera on a tripod to be lowered and lifted, wasting time. The studio is HUGE compared to the other studios here in Blacksburg. I would defintely recommend this studio for a family simply because you can fit a group without being smushed together. I will defintely go back to take my childrens pictures here again. More...

This is a great studio.  We have over the years tried many others and well I just love these guys.  The staff is nice, fun, down to earth.  The owner is just a nice guy.  They can also can do amazing things to your photos to make them the best ever.  They have great props, sets, ideas, packages.  As well they have these great montoges, cards, and scrapbook pages to keep all your memories or send them to family.  They have great packages for evreyone.  Go in and check them out and if you tell them I sent you you can get some free stuff.
