What a wonderful place.Brought my 3.5 year old terrier (Appa) here this evening due to some really bad skin issues he's started having recently. I had a hard time picking a vet because pets are basically family. I was so anxious I'd be unhappy or not like the staff. I've heard so many horror stories from people who've gone to terrible vets. My concerns never became a reality because I chose to go here.My experience was perfect. The staff: From the gentleman that took my call in the morning and set up the appointment, to the girl that checked me in when I arrived, to Christine the vet tech that helped me the whole time, and Dr. Sohi. Everyone was wonderful.Dr. Sohi was very knowledgeable and it was obvious very quickly that his concern was my dog and figuring out what was causing his health issues and clearing it up as quickly as possible.I didn't feel pressured to pay for a billion different things, and I didn't feel like I was being gouged. Albeit, the visit wasn't cheap but that's par for the course with medical bills (pet or human!) I felt the prices were very reasonable for what I was having done.As someone that works in hotels. I came upon City Pet Hospital via yelp as I was looking for a vet that could take my puppy sooner than my usual vet could since they canceled my appointment with no reason nor apology. I had an issue that I was worried about and wanted her to be seen sooner than later. Called on a Saturday afternoon and they were able to schedule her in on Sunday afternoon. I was very relieved.I was extremely happy with my puppy's first vet visit. The receptionist was very friendly. The vet tech who took all my puppy's vitals was very friendly. She listened intently as I voiced my concern over a couple of issues. The vet came in and did his exam. I felt he did a very thorough job with the check-up. He listened to my concerns and advised me of my options of what I could do and his recommendations. I didn't feel rushed and he took the time to listen to me. At no time did I feel pressured to have any tests done or any services I did not want. I was able to get everything that I had wanted done at this visit. I am extremely happy that I found this vet. This will definitely be my puppy's vet and I will most likely also bring my other dog to them in the future. Their prices were also very reasonable and it wasn't a sticker shock. Staff and vet were wonderful!  This was my puppy's first vet visit since I have owned her.  Myself and my puppy were very comfortable at the visit.  I definitely recommend them!The only thing I'd advise when visiting is to allow ample time to find parking. Really impressed with the vet.  He gave me suggestions for preventing issues requiring anal gland expression - it's been an issue the 14 years I've had Jack Russells and I've never had a vet suggest adding fiber to their diet.  So far, so good.  The office staff was pleasant.  We did have to wait awhile, but they are also less expensive than the other vets I've been to in the Bay Area, and I think they'd had some emergencies in before we arrived for our appointment. An exam and a vaccination were available the same day I called, Saturday. The staff was super friendly and thoughtful (even called me back as requested to let me know that an earlier appointment had become available). The exam went well. When the scale showed that my cat weighed a pound less than she usually does, got a different scale, to see whether it was the cat or the scale (it was the cat). I thought it was sweet of them.The doctor was thorough and efficient, suggested many things that my cat might need but wasn't pushy, which, being a minimalist, I appreciated. Was also impressed that it was the first hospital my cat and I have ever been where they offered to vaccinate her out back OR in the exam room where I was. Given that I hate letting my cat out of sight and also that she's FIV+ so I like to minimize her exposure to places that are accessible to other cats, I really appreciated that.Finally, they gave me what seemed to be an honest and thorough overview of various pet insurances that have become available since the last time I looked into it. Overall, seems like a great place. Given that it's pretty recently opened, seems like a good opportunity to sneak in and become a regular. Found City Pet Hospital through Yelp and it was the best thing I could of ever done for my EB Rollie. Since I brought home my little guy he's had a whole mess of issues from ear infections to cherry eye and also his vaccinations. Every visit I was always greeted with such happy faces and love for my pup. He loves going to visit Mike, Christine and staff. His tail goes about 100 miles per hour. The staff is amazing and so caring. Both Doctors are terrific and the clinic itself is always clean. They also take the time to follow-up after every visit when Rollie has been sick to make sure I don't have any questions or concerns. They are truly great! Keep up the great work! More...

This place was the only place that would see my 1yr old cat complimentary first visit for a wellness check and when I got there everyone was pleasant and knowledgeable turned out my cat was perfect weight and he got his rabies shot and a plan of shots when I come back as fit to my wallet ! What an incredible vet team! They are caring, professional, hard-working, and compassionate.  Dr. Sohi, Mike, Christine, Kelly and Jeremiah and the whole team took excellent care of my cat Timmy and also of me. I took my 8 year old Siberian husky at City Pet hospital with severe constipation for more than a week, they performed X-rays and found his prostate was enlarged, Dr. Bikram Sohi diagnosed it as Benign prostate hyperplasia and advised me to get my dog neutered. They neutered him and now after couple days of laxatives he's doing better. Thanks to Dr. Sohi and entire team of City Pet Hospital for their competence and honest dealing. I highly recommend CPH. Feeniks, a 64 pound 7 year-old Husky mix, recently collapse and howled in pain while playing with a neighbor's dog. On that day the vet he had been going to was unable to see him. Luckily City Pet Hospital was able to see him. He was in so much pain that I had to build a stretcher and get a friend to help put him on it to drive him in. I left Feeniks in their care and hoped for the best. Later, that day, when I went to pick him up he was standing pain free, and even though that mainly had to to the with anesthesia, it was still wonderful seeing him standing and not on the ground crying. From his x-rays we discovered that Feeniks suffered a back injury and needed rest as well as a series of pain killers and anti-inflammatory drugs until he recovered . It has been a little over a week and Feeniks no longer is taking any medication. He is now walking and running pain free and on the road to what looks like a full recovery.   Thank you Dr. Sohi and everyone else who helped Feeniks that day!  Now most would give a 5 star review for such a seemingly miraculous recovery, but what made the biggest impression on me is when we came in for our follow-up visit. The staff is amazingly thoughtful and patient and Feeniks who is a "big baby" will howl and nip at the hand holding the stethoscope and put up quite a fight. (Yes, he does that.. bad dog!) Yet even with such an uncooperative dog the staff handled Feeniks well and with kindness.  I think, though I am not holding my breath, he might even enjoy his next visit. More...

I'm so impressed with this business that I absolutely must share my experience. I haven't trimmed my dogs nails in about a year. I KNOW, IM A BAD DOG MOM. We had a baby, have another on the way and my priorities have been elsewhere. At about 8 o'clock on a Wednesday night, my dog went to scratch her face and her nail got caught in her eye. I was mortified. As my Dremel was on the charger I started frantically calling around to every Petsmart/ PetCo/grooming place I could find on google maps. Of course nothing was open. I then started searching vets, no one would see her, then I called this place and I was in an exam room with Mike within 15 minutes of my phone conversation with him. Honestly Mike is such a quality employee, if I had my own business I'd try to steal him myself. When I got there he got me right into a room, offered me water, coffee etc and he got down to BUSINESS on her nails. He was not shy with the trim, handled my dog so well and did a WAY better job than I expected. There is absolutely no chance that I'll ever go back to my regular vet again. The hours they offer, the combination of services they do and the staff here basically give me no choice. Mike- thanks for everything. We recently moved into the area and needed to take our puppy in right away for an infection. I was surprised that they were so accommodating, getting us in right away. Their hours are awesome! There was a slight mix-up, however, when we first arrived and we had to wait a bit for the doctor to arrive, but it was no big deal and they were super apologetic about it. Once our puppy was seen, the doctor was very thorough. I always thought my vet in Cleveland was thorough, but these guys went the extra mile, checking our dog's mechanics, asking question about behavior, etc. Though a little on the pricey side, that's what we've come to expect in San Francisco. We are just so appreciative of the fast, thorough care they gave our puppy. Everyone we have worked with so far there was incredibly kind. Searched awhile and found this gem of vet services for my first little dog, a nine pounder, and am so glad I did. Everyone there is attentive, has built a relationship with my dog and I, and I'm confident with the care and attention he gets. Dr. Sohi does not walk out of the door until he knows you have no more questions and Michael (who absolutely super rocks) always ensures I understand instructions for meds and care. We had a great experience with City Pet Hospital with my cat's dental issues.  I'll keep my points simple.The doctor was knowledgeable and easy going.  He didn't push for any medications or procedures that were not necessary.I loved all the nurses who were all kind and caring.  They took time to explain all the medications and made sure all my questions were answered.The fees were reasonable and surprisingly less than I expected.We did not experience a long waiting time but it did seem busy.We are very happy with their care and will be coming back again. Today was the first time I've visited City Pet Hospital. I brought in my 3 month old, female kitten....turns out she is actually a HE, and only 2 1/2 months! I was shocked  But I digress - all in all the experience was top notch. Mike was fantastic and answered all my silly questions, and Dr. Sohi was so patient with my fierce little boy. I've always struggled with one of my dogs when it comes to vaccination, nail trims or just check ups.So I often try to postpone any veterinarian visits as long as possible, until I find a place that I feel would work with me and my dogs fear/anxiety/aggression. I was browsing online for a pet hospital for reviews and stumbled through their yelp page. I wasn't sure at first if I should trust the reviews that are on here but since I saw that they were giving out free time check ups, I might as well try it out. I called and explained my situation and concerns (which was mainly about  nail trimming.) I was told that we should come in for a check up and then see what they can do.The day comes and I bring in Chela, not knowing what to expect. I checked in and sat down. My dog started hearing other dogs and was becoming scared, which the staff noticed and allowed us to wait in an empty room. I will admit that there was a bit of a wait which started to make me uncomfortable at first. However afterwards I met Dr. Sohi and he was apologetic. I then explained again my situation and so we tried to put a muzzle but couldn't. The staff were patient which I was so grateful for. As frustrating as it was for me, I didn't feel judged. They told me to try back the next day and prescribed some anxiety meds for my dog for the next day. (No charge other then the medication.)Unfortunately I wasn't able to be seen the next day because there was an emergency which I completely understand. They called me and apologized and we were able to make an appointment for the day after.I come back with Chela being on the meds and once again there was a bit of a wait which also made me nervous again because I didn't want the medication to wear off. When the staff came in, they tried a different approach with me out of view and were somehow able to get the muzzle on, trim her nails along and check her heartbeat. Dr. Sohi had some concerns and explained what it was and that he would like to do some sort of xray (can't remember the name) without putting any pressure as if having it done right away. The vet tech, (forgot her name, sorry!) also did not put any pressure. I didn't want Chela to be more traumatized as she was so I did reschedule for a different day (along with wanting to save more money for the procedure.)Because of Chelas arrhythmia Dr.Sohi did want to change her medication. I was told that I can swap it out and just pay the difference if needed so that's what I did. They were kind enough to not charge for the this visit as well.I would rate this place a 4.5/5. We found City Pet on Memorial Day, when our newly adopted dog was suddenly very sick. We live in SF and our normal vet was closed. That first visit turned into several days of visits while Dr Sohi got to the bottom of what was wrong with our little girl. The team there, Dr Sohi, Mike, Karen, and all the staff are so kind and caring for your pet. They treated our girl as one of their own. Dr Sohi is a fantastic vet. OMG! I cannot tell you how AWESOME of an experience we had here today!!! WONDERFUL STAFF! WONDERFUL VET! The only downside was the parking, but that's not their fault. We received a free exam coupon in the mail and thought we'd give them a try! We brought our 2 kitties to get a check up. We were greeted right when we opened the door and were checked in within seconds. The vet tech, Carla was amazing!!! Such great spirits and awesome personality. Very welcoming and you can just tell how much she loves her job and animals in general. They were able to fit our 2 cats into their busy schedule, we didn't have an appointment, but were still able to accommodate us. Carla was able to answer all our questions as well!We saw Dr. Caran (not sure if I spelled that right). But he was awesome! You can tell he loves his job and loves animals. After checking each cat, he held them and pet them, making them feel safe. One of my cats has the sniffles, and he didn't try to sell me on medications or procedures. He gave me his true and genuine opinion and told me to try Benadryl and if that doesn't work, we can do further testing. But since his heart and lung sounds were good, there was no need for any procedure or medicine. It's hard to come by a doctor who just cares, and is not all about the money.Definitely will be coming back here again! More...

This is my first vet experience and so far so good. I made a request online for an appointment and got a response the same day. The clinic is clean , quiet, and welcoming and they have coffee! The staff was very friendly and showered my puppy with attention. The tech was very knowledgeable and answered a lot of my questions that I had as a first time pet owner. I liked that the The vet (Dr Soji )gave me advice about things that I had not considered. The wait time and consultation time varies, however they do a thorough job and provide good customer service. I'm very grateful that I found a great pet hospital for my cat. I love their service and honesty. The doctor and staffs were patiently explaining every details. They gently treat my cat and carefully taught me how to clean my cat's ear disease. They've also done the lab work and vaccine quickly. I have rarely been so impressed by a new business as I have been by this one! They only opened at the beginning of the year, but in my book they have knocked it out of the park. It is difficult to find veterinary care at a reasonable rate, especially within the SF city limits. This brand new, fully remodeled vet hospital has had a lot of care and thoughtful planning put into it. When you couple all of that with extraordinarily long open hours (7 days a week, including evening hours with no extra charge for nights and weekends), first visit free, discounts for seniors and rescued pets, special rates for dental cleaning, spay and neuter surgery and more, you're well on your way to success. And on top of all that the staff I've met have been exceptional. I was so impressed by Dr. Sohi and his care of my new golden retriever puppy. It was just a check up but he gave me plenty of time. He is very personable and thorough. I think we will have a long and rewarding partnership. I look forward to meeting the other vet on staff as well. They also aim to fill the gap between routine care and urgent care, perhaps avoiding the need for emergency care at a much higher cost. I encourage you all to try them. If there is a drawback it is the terribly busy parking lot of the small shopping center where they are located. Just allow time to find parking or park in the adjacent residential neighborhood. Amazing service. Mike and all the vet techs were extremely nice and comforting. They really care for your animals. The Vet is very smart and knows what he is doing. I came because my dog was throwing up and pooping some blood. They were able to figure it out and find out it was nothing life threatening. Gave him the proper medicine. I took my dog Kitty because she had a lose tooth.  It turned out she had 9 lose teeth and needed to repair a fistula because she lost one of incisor tooth.  I went to her first appointment, which was free of charge, they booked her for her procedure 3 days later.  I dropped her off in the morning and picked her up in the evening around 7pm.  The staff are amazing, super friendly and caring.  Dr. Bikram Sohi did an outstanding job on Kitty, cleaned her teeth, extracted teeth, repaired the fistula and now Kitty is a happy doggie. (When I picked up Kitty @ 7pm, one of the assistants had her on his lap while he was working, making Kitty feel better since she was in pain from the surgery). I highly recommend City Pet Hospital. I found City Pet Hospital on my Fb feed, and found out they had a dental cleaning special. I decided to take both my dogs in for the free exams. Turned out both dogs needed a dental cleaning. From the time we walked in I felt comfortable  and even more so when we meet Dr. Sohi!! If anyone knows me they know I love my dogs like my kids! Through out their procedures they kept me updated, and when it came to Pippa their was an issue with her blood test. Dr. Sohi  talked with me and we came to a decision we both felt comfortable with! I called several time to check on them and found the Staff were giving them cuddles as they were there for more than 8 hrs! Made my heart smile. We went to this pet hospital when our dog got hit by a car. Initially we felt they were being too careful in taking care of the situation. I had a long conversation with the staff and the Vet doctor after the incident, they patiently shared with me their concerns at that time and I am convinced by their professionalism and genuine care of our pet. My cat had bladder blocked and need an emergency care. We went to Nor Cal Veterinary Emergency first and they gave us an estimation of 5000+ bill and they were keeping pushing us with "Your cat must stay here or die", which made me extremely uncomfortable, Just got a feeling of "They care money Only". Fortunately, we found City Pet Hospital is still open late. Doctor gave us an estimation and willing to do his best without saying "You must stay with me, it is totally your choice". First visit to this pet hospital, so the exam was free.  My 2 yr old FIV cat has gum problems and I wanted to see if he needed teeth cleaning.  He has major gingivitis due to his disease and the doctor confirmed that there was nothing we could do about it and a dental cleaning would not help him any, because he doesn't have any tartar build up.  He's healthy besides his inflamed gums.  The doctor said as long as he's eating well, just keep giving him the same dental treats and get him checked yearly, he'll be fine.  The only thing that can be done for him in the future is to remove all his teeth.  I'd hate for that to happen, but I guess that could be done in the future if he is in pain and won't eat.  I'm sure other hospitals could have said to get his teeth cleaned and that would have been $400+.  Glad he was honest! We had a very good experience here with our sick doggie.  The location was easy to find and parking relatively easy (large but busy parking lot).  The clinic is very well kept, clean and modern interior.  The staff were friendly and accommodating and the vet tech who helped us was very caring.  Dr. Sohi seemed very knowledgeable and thorough and offered us several different options and levels of diagnostics and care (12 hours later, after a prescription medication and home remedy suggestions, doggie is looking better).  They weren't aggressively pushing services, really allowed us to decide.  And the pricing seemed very reasonable.  We'll definitely take the little one back here for his care. We had a fantastic experience with The City Pet Hospital in our search for an affordable dental cleaning service for our dog in the Bay Area. I called in on Friday and was already able to schedule a dental consult the next day and the cleaning itself was completed on Sunday. The staff were so kind and helpful. The vet techs and veterinarians took their time to answer all our questions with no feeling of being rushed. Dr. Lanzot did a fabulous job on the dental cleaning for our 6 year old adopted dog. Right after the procedure his teeth were beautiful and he no longer had bad breath.Overall, great hours, services, terrific prices and quality of care. The SFSPCA and most practices had given us estimates of over $1000 for basic dental cleaning under anesthesia.
