We got a one year old coonhound/german shepherd mix from a shelter. When she came home with us she was very sweet but we could tell she was used to being a stray and roaming wherever she wanted. She quickly revealed all the weaknesses in our backyard fence by escaping repeatedly and wandering our neighborhood. She would only stop or come when called when she was ready to. She is also super high energy and would try to bully our older dogs into playing. Additionally, we fought a few other negative behaviors like resource guarding, room guarding and personal space issues with both people and other dogs. We knew that good dog training tends to be more expensive, but many of the programs we looked at were only 3-5 sessions, and we didn't want to have to keep enrolling her repeatedly in programs in the hope that we would eventually get results. After searching the web and calling several places we finally came across Kim's Chasing the Wild program. The one thing we kept in the back of our minds was, this is an investment in our relationship and life with our new dog, and we wanted to give our new dog a real chance to change and learn and grow with us. We've learned from all the dog training and classes we've taken that it's just as much for you to learn is it is the dog. The program we opted for with Kim was 8 weeks long. Each week Kim would pick up our dog Stella at our house and take her (and all the other trainees, including her own pack) out to the country for a pack hike. This was huge for our Stella! Exposure to a diverse pack community, exposure to proper behaviors and pack alpha/beta dynamics, energy expenditure combined with a controlled ability to wander, working with long leash training and recall. All this was repeated for 8 weeks, which we knew Stella needed if any of it was going to stick. Additionally, Kim did one-on-one personal sessions with us once a week, in-home or in public, working on whatever topics/ issues/ behavior training/ commands we wanted. The amount of VALUE in Kim's programs is completely worth its weight in gold. We saw changes in Stella's behavior immediately. Obviously with dogs the training is never over, and you definitely get out what you put into it. You have to do your homework and put in the time with your dog to reinforce the training the behaviors you want to see. We would recommend Kim and Chasing the Wild to anyone! Dogs are like people and their behaviors are predictable. Kim will teach you to understand why your dog has certain behaviors and how to approach training from a different perspective. We can't thank Kim enough for helping Stella and also for teaching us so much about dog psychology! More...

We started working with Kim for our two dogs, Sophie & Murphy. Sophie had major anxiety and was (is) obsessed with food. Murphy is a 110lb working dog who was reactive on leash especially during walks around the neighborhood. Kim has helped us to transform these behaviors in both dogs. We can now take both of them for long walks without any issues with people or dogs, and their behavior at home has improved significantly. We had so much success working with Kim that we signed up for the additional hikes, and continue to engage in the resources she has for ongoing training. I could not recommend Kim more and it is significantly worth the investment for you and your dog! More...

Kim is amazing! She truly understands how to train people so they speak their dog’s language and get fast sustainable results! She’s been helping me with my 9 month old puppy (pit/shepherd mix) who was all wiggles and no ‘off’ switch. The transformation is nothing short of incredible. If you want to see real progress to have a healthy, well balanced pup, Kim is your best resource! She is worth every penny. More...

Kim is the best trainer I’ve ever experienced. She said our dog’s behavior was due to him being nervous and anxious. She helped him gain confidence and taught us advanced skills to spot, prevent and manage behavior. She was never harsh but also not soft. We were not new with challenging breeds but this was a whole ‘nother level. Our dog was afraid of humans. Now he is happy and well adjusted. She videos most of her training sessions so you know she’s loving and firm with your dog. She is a Godsend. Worth every penny. More...

Chase the Wild LLC-DSM is a wonder worker. WE had a Lab that had some behavior issues and within a few weeks, Kim and her team were able to help us out. Without her team we were lost on what to do. I would highly recommend Chasing the Wild. More...

The dogs Arebtrained to work and play winaide a pack of 8-9 dogs. Kim, the trainer and I ack leader spends several weeks/months initially worki g with your dog and the. Slowly introduces your sog to the pack. What we found with our dogs was that they went twice a week for the “master class”; basically learning the commands they will obey and when they do so, they later taken a DD leash with other dogs at that level, and they run happily off leash ; kim takes them only to off leash venues). She also puts a leash on them all at some point and walks for hours with them, gettin Them to understand what’s expected of them in stores, on streets w cars and rooms all over. What can I say bit our digs have gotten the best of all possiblities— they meet and socialize with their pack (8-9 other dogs); they experience busy stores and street wit their pack buddies and kim, all together, so learn to trust the leader and the other dogs, and learn just because something is new doesn’t mean it’s scary: and they learn that after a day of lessons and such, that kim will take them to a great place with a water body and acreage and they can laugh and swim air just decide to dawdle down the road lost in thoughts about the day, or maybe about the gravel road, or maybe even daydreaming about that cute dog who he thinks is flirting with him ( if only he knew what “flirting” meant...) All to say the Masters class that kim runs is a Great definitely wonderful and gives your dog skills it will need on these hikes and elsewhere; then, when you and your dig go beyond that to running in fields, swimming in ponds and lakes, examine pieces of wood like it’s the most fascinating wood ever, making friends .... Basically these experiences will leave you with no choice but to absolutely that kim is a dig whisperer. A true dog whisperer. Happy dog, happy dogs friends, happy dog pack, and well, happy you, feeling so close to your dog and with skills you need but didn’t kno you needed ( and that your dig know. It sog didn’t know he or she would need them either. . This has been much more of a ramble than I meant... but I can summarize this in two words—-“KIM DOGWHISPERER”. 😀😀🥰 More...
