I took my puppy here (a schnauzer) for his first cut and they did a lovely job trimming my dog. Grinding nails, not so great, but I was pretty happy with the cut. However, upon trying to make another appointment. They are impossible to get in touch with. I've left a couple messages on their answering machine and they never returned my call. I used their website to try and make an appointment and I was never contacted. I emailed and got no response. It should not be this difficult to just get an appointment. I'll try another groomer. I rarely post reviews, and would never mislead anyone. I also appreciate how difficult it is to be a groomer. I have had Bichons and now a Golden Doodle - and have been paying groomers for 25+ years. I know what to expect.Little nicks happens. Dogs get nervous. Haircuts are not perfect each time. I'm ok with all of that, but NOT ok with:- not being called back after 2 voicemails and speaking with Astrid directly when I did catch her on the 3rd try when she said she'd call me back after discussing with her manager ... all I asked for was if we can come in for a touch up so they can actually finish what they did not get to do right the first time- keeping my dog for 8 hours (from 9-5) and returning her looking like she was run through a dull clipping machine over her body, with tufts everywhere and paws that looks like they were not touched at all- being casually told that I was told about her back legs causing her trouble when I picked her up - when my girl could NOT STAND up on her hind legs the evening she came home after her full day at their place ( I wrote it off to just being sore from a full day of standing or being crated to dry (she hates the real dryers), because I really do give the benefit of the doubt to the groomer)When I picked her up at 5pm, Astrid and I spoke for 15 minutes about what can be done better next time, but I didn't see how back the haircut was (since my son took our girl into the car right away, while I chatted with Astrid about next time) and I trusted Astrid meant well at the time, but 2 weeks later and not a peep from them after I spent $165 and my sweet doggie spent 8 hours in their place is just not ok!!!!ALL THEY HAD TO DO WAS CALL ME, EITHER DURING THE 8 HOUR DISASTEROUS GROOMING DAY IF MY DOGGIE WAS UNCOMFORTABLE, TOO NERVOUS, OR IN DANGER OF INJURY.... I can't even express how much I do not recommend this place. The groomers had me concerned for my dogs safety, implying if I wasn't there by a certain time my dog would be left there. I will take ownership of me not fully understanding how private groomers work/get paid, but after how the groomer spoke to me on the phone--can't even imagine how they treat the dogs/cats. I've never written a bad review in my life but i feel like i have to at this point. I do NOT recommend this salon. My dog went here to get groomed and she came home so sick puking and diarrhea. I had to take her to the vet and spend 160. Not only that but she had a big cut, and when I called to confront them they said "are you sure that happened here" and it's certain that it did occur there. I haven't heard back in one week at least. I got her groomed a week ago and have been calling everyday since. All I want is a refund. And no one will be responsible to call me back. UPDATE: My vet confirmed that the dark red spots all over my dog were caused by clipper burn (tho best friends pets claimed it was preexisting, which is crap) and that tho the cut on my dog does not appear to be from clippers, it was a VERY new wound (meaning likely was NOT scabbed over as the groomers claimed). After this visit to the vet I am no longer just angry the did not tell me about the issues, but now I am angry because it looks like my dog was somehow injured while she was at the establishment,  burned by their razors, and the establishment lied to about it. Will never return.<br><br>Consumer Beware--- I have been going to this pet grooming station for years as it is where my pet sitter has brought my dogs in the past. I've never been particularly fond of the place because the owner is pretty rude, tho some employees are super, super nice. But I get my Aussie's hair cut during the summer and grooming every so often before that. I tried to find another groomer in the area but ended up going back to best friends today because my other groomer was booked out for a month.<br><br>But today was something else. As I was dropping my pup off I was a little surprised because of the number of people also dropping their dogs off at the same time as me. <br><br>When I picked up my dog I paid and tipped (which they have you do BEFORE you get to see your dog, which I thought was funny), but as I left the store I picked my pup up to put her in the car and felt something terrible on her side immediately. I investigated and found a GIGANTIC cut on the side of my dog. There was a woman in the parking lot and I showed her, and she said she actually worked there and I should go back in and have them dress the cut up and protect it because it was ACTIVELY BLEEDING. <br><br>When I walked in all the owner said was "There was a scab there, it came off during the appointment". I just sat there dumbfounded. Though I highly doubt my dog would have such a large wound and I wouldn't notice (keep in mind it took me less than one minute to notice it after pick up) I was horrified that she wouldn't tell me that my dog had a gaping wound. She also did NOT dress the cut as the employee said they should do with a wound like that. I called my vet and she told me to bring my dog in as soon as I could and that they would bill the groomer if the cut and the additional rash (which i won't even get into, but its BS), was caused by grooming. We called and told them that and they were super nice, but we got a call back ten minutes later from the same horrible owner about how "she came in like that". honestly, accidents happen, and maybe I overlooked something and it was there before, I can't believe they wouldn't tell me.<br><br>Let me be clear: if you want a groomer to tell you your dog has a gaping wound when you pick them up, then I'd take your business elsewhere. I really want to give them 4.5 stars but this is an updated review and the last one was 4 stars...so I figure this is averaging out to 4. 5.<br><br>Good:<br>- Great job with the haircut (Brittany Spaniel)<br>- Handled the dog well<br>- Communicated well when he was done<br><br>Baddish:<br>- Little bit of a miscommunication (we called to confirm appointment and they said we had no appointment...then we had to rush home from work when they called us asking where we were).<br><br>Overall we like this place - again wish I could give 4.5 stars.  Sometimes have communication and scheduling issues but do a good job at both the dog's grooming and with how they manage our dog.  And it's a small business so they are doing a lot of juggling so we the baddish seems like a reasonable thing to deal with because they consistently do a good job on the grooming.<br><br>They have a lot of bad reviews from people with cats.  I suppose they have a cat in their logo but they are really more setup for dogs.  I have nothing against cats - we also have cats (although I would never cut a cat's fur...we just brush our cats) but I probably would not take a cat here.  This is really a dog grooming salon so our experience reflects that. The owner's response seems true to form and in line with the behavior I experienced at the store - lacking in the basics of customer service, unprofessional, and apparently uninformed about dog personality. <br><br>So let's start with the basics. <br><br>Our dog is an 16 month old Samoyed - who says Merry Christmas in the attached picture by the way. <br><br>Scary dog, huh? <br><br>Samoyeds are among the friendliest dogs, and ours is no exception. To say that he's aggressive, let alone dangerous, is laughable at best, and shows the salon's lack of understanding of breed personality. <br><br>Our dog, Kody, is indeed social, curious, and not yet as obedient as he will become, for sure. <br><br>The hundreds of humans and pets he has encountered will tell you this: he's among the friendliest, warmest, most welcoming dogs they ever met - he is an absolute bundle of love and brings joy to every interaction. I delight every time he makes someone's day brighter, which is every day. Kids and adults cannot not pet him, and he rewards them with an exponential amount of love and attention.<br><br>In fact one aspect of Samoyed personality is that they respond really well to supportive training, very poorly to aggressive or dominant behaviors - they do not become aggressive, rather, they retrench.<br><br>And yes, he does need a little handling, for sure - you know, things like "sit, and quiet, and good boy", and some treats, something which I know many pet owners will not find unusual. Maybe this salon does.<br><br>Kody is 55 pounds, not 100. <br><br>A detail, I guess, but to make Kody sound like an oversized bully and alpha made is the kind of gaslighting some presidential press secretaries would be proud if..<br><br>Moving on.<br><br>He's also unneutered still as we have an agreement with the breeder to not neuter him until he's 2 years old. <br><br>For this breed, this prevents skeletal and joint problems later on, and allows for the full physical development of the animal. <br><br>So - how about the fact that his being unneutered at 16<br>months is a sign of our deep love, respect, and caring for Kody, rather than some sign of pet-owner irresponsibility? Or are love, respect, caring something that is not part of your vocabulary or your duty. As you seemed to indicate in your response?<br><br>So here is what really happened: <br><br>Kody was probably active and a bit unruly when we first took him to your store, it's possible and likely, and I am sorry about it. He is not aggressive, does not bite, and is not this monster of a dog that you describe.<br><br>I would have been more than happy to have a sensible conversation with you. <br><br>You didn't bring it up after the first visit, you didn't bring it up when we made the first appointment. <br><br>You didn't bring it up when we made this new appointment.<br><br>About being late - my wife had called to say that we would be late, and you said OK. <br><br>You could have said no, you had every possibility to let us know.<br><br>Then I walk in your store, get the cold shoulder from the very first interaction, as well as uninformed statements about Kody. <br><br>At that point, my attempts to clarify the real nature of his personality and share the perspective of an owner who spends hours with him every day were actually out of concern for you - I didn't want you to think that you were about to spend two hours with an aggressive and dangerous dog. Which I repeat: Kody is not.<br><br>What did you do instead? Repeated some unfounded accusatory and prejudiced statements, made me feel as unwelcome as I have ever been in any store anywhere - all the way to me having to ask you - "so are you telling me that you cannot handle Kody" - to which you finally said - "yes".<br><br>Every aspect of this interaction was as bad as any I remember with any business owner. I am a nice and friendly person, and Kody the friendliest animal you will ever meet. The fact that you managed to create this situation says quite a bit about your unfitness to run this business. You will learn, I hope, and spare future patrons from having this kind of experience. <br><br>Learn to manage your business, learn customer service, learn good communications, learn respect, practice kindness - and you will learn a successful business. We recently moved to the Bellevue area and I wanted to get my two cats groomed before introducing them to their new home. At first, I was skeptical of finding my cats a groomer after finding out the typical price for one cat is $120+ . But when I checked Best Friends Grooming Salon out, their prices were affordable and accommodating. I even had one cat who was giving the groomer a difficult time, but the staff was super understanding and suggested I bring her back the following weekend to finish her shave for free. Now, both cats look great shaved (for the first time), nails trimmed, fur soft! I'm so happy I found a grooming salon that offers services for both cats and dogs, these ladies are great!! I have taken our dog to Best Friends for 5 years now.  She gets a "puppy cut" which takes her long coat down to a half an inch in length leaving her tail bushy and beautifully trimmed.  Everyone we meet after her cut including our vet has marveled at the quality of the cut. People always ask where we had her groomed.  I make sure that Jessica gets our dog every visit.  I have never been disappointed in her work.  I highly recommend Best Friends. More...

Watch out! Technician was rude, bad mood and in the wrong business. We've been bringing our dogs here for years but today was our last time. My wife was explaining to her that our dog could bite if not handled carefully and she was rude and obnoxious to my wife. When I I told this tech after her behavior with my wife we were going to leave she said "Good!"  We have been waiting for this appointment for almost a month. Big waste of time. I had tried this salon a few months ago when my puppy was just 3-4 months old and just needed a bath, nail trim and facial clean-up. I <br>thought they were rude and unfriendly but attributed to the fact that my puppy just needed a minor grooming. But I scheduled a full grooming for her a few days ago and the service was awful. My puppy is now 8+ months old and very friendly. I had to drop her off at 11AM and was told she'd be ready by 5. So I assumed she was going to spend hours in a crate. By this time it was too late to reschedule my day so I had to leave her. Everyone was unfriendly and brusque and arrogant. I returned at 4:45 PM and my pup was being worked on. I asked how long it would be before she was done (it looked as though they had just started) and a woman who I think is the manager or owner snapped at me and said, "You're free to take her right now but the charge will be the same." Really nasty and snotty. As though I would take her with half her body cut short and the other half long and flowy! It was so nasty. Also, the groomer who was grooming her I think was new and inexperienced because my dog ended up with long tufts of hair sticking out all over her. The cut was uneven and sloppy. Never again! I really love Best Friends Grooming! I have not taken my senior dogs there in a year, just because it was hard to get them in and out of the car. But things have become desperate, with one dog who was very difficult for me to cut myself. I took them there yesterday, and cannot say enough about Danielle and the entire staff at Best Friends! They took such good care of my doggies and both came home, after much difficulty, with beautiful hair cuts. Kai is easier, but Tango took a lot of tender loving care, which she got at Best Friends! Update: the person that gave us the terrible groom is no longer at the salon.  Alexa does a great job on my dog!<br><br>After paying $100 for a full groom on my standard poodle, I expected more attention to detail.  Our dog had very obvious tufts of hair here and there all over his body that they missed while giving him his haircut. They are fantastic!  I have 13 year old dog who I got a few years ago and she had never had her nails clipped. They were super super long.  She was terrified of the nail clippers and didn't even like anyone touching her paws. When we started coming, it would take two people to hold and comfort her while a third clipped her nails.  We've kept coming back and they've done so well at getting my dog used to the process that Jessica can cut her nails by herself now.  She still doesn't like having it done but she trusts Jessica and knows she'll get treats at the end. She whines a little, but stays still while getting her nails trimmed now.  Kudos to the team for taking the time to make my dog comfortable and not giving up on her! More...

I would highly recommend "Best Friends Grooming Salon" to everyone. It was great to bring Prada, Emma and Mia in and be able to pick them up in an hour to two hours rather than taking them in at 8 and picking her up at 5. Alexis is very friendly, very accommodating  and very gentle. It was very important to me, especially,  with my 15 1/2 years old poodle to have a groomer who really cares, never complains on their behavior and truly loves animals.  Facility is very clean and open for everyone to see when they work on dogs . Best Friends is a wonderful place, giving special care to each animal . I have been using their services for 15 years. I have 2 cats who look fabulous after their grooming. They get lion cuts and always look good and I can tell the kitties feel great too. Over the years I have had 4 cats that have enjoyed their grooming at Best Friends and all of them have come home smiling and happy with their more manageable hair cuts. We've been taking our Havanese to Best Friends for years and have been very pleased with the results. Our pup always comes back cute as can be and smelling fresh as a daisy. It's a busy shop, and I learned quickly that it's hard to get last minute appointments. Terrible experience! Dropped off my cat this morning and while he wasn't cooperative with the groomer (since he's not accustomed to being around yelping dogs), they treated me and my cat, as if we were a nuisance. <br><br>After hanging up on me and telling me that my cat was vicious, I had to leave work early, and pick him up, worried about how they may treat him if I leave him there during the day. <br><br>My cat has been getting groomed for 5 years and when I dropped him off this morning, I mentioned his timidness around dogs. Sure enough, they tried to groom him while surrounded by dogs on other tables.<br><br>Even in understanding the situation, the customer experience should have been MUCH better and I should have been treated with much more respect, given she even made a snide comment to me while I was walking out of the groomer, after trying to explain to her that I mentioned him being afraid of dogs.<br><br>I'm sure they're a good groomer, I just didn't appreciate the lack of customer service and rude remarks while I was trying to give them my business. <br><br>For future reference to Karen and her team: A friendly call apologizing and thanking me for giving your groomer a chance would have sufficed, rather than you belittling me and my pet for his lack of cooperation, when your establishment wasn't suited for a cat afraid of dogs. <br><br>Best of luck! I have been taking my two dogs to Best Friends for the last 2 years.<br>They are a mix of Golden Retriever and Border Collie. <br>Lots of hair!<br>They always come home beautiful and seemed well cared for.<br>I've referred friends and they tell me how thankful they are for the referral.<br>I think Best Friends is effienct and understand dogs.<br>Mine go in nervous - and BF just take the lead and let them know all is OK.<br><br>Rufus and Luna need a appointment! first time there today, of course nervous because my Maltese + Maltipoo are my kids. they saw Jessica today and she was so sweet and kind and listened to all my crazy ocd requests. she finished them earlier than I had expected which was fantastic. and they look adorable. so soft and perfect. my little Maltese peed on her blanket (which she does when away from me) and Jessica WASHED it and had it dry and clean for me! we will be back. thanks, Jessica! my babes look adorable. Best Friends was great! I emailed them to book an appoointment, and Alexa was quick to respond and helpful in getting me scheduled. <br><br>The salon itself is small, but very clean and it's nice to see the groomers doing their work while you can watch.<br><br>My dog is a 1 year old Golden Retriever who had just spent two weeks in a cone-of-shame because of allergies, so he was dirty, itchy, and shedding like crazy. Best Friends did an oatmeal bath, trimmed his paws, trimmed his nails, cleaned his ears, and brushed him out.<br><br>He came out clearly happy, super soft, and smelling great.
