Good service. Extremely friendly guys. I called Lynn and scheduled the appointment 2 weeks in advance. Lynn goes over the prices in extreme detail. It's a base rate of $150/hr. They accept credit card. I told them I live on the 3rd floor, so that's an extra $10/hr. I was moving to 3rd floor and it's an extra $10/hr. Transport is $170/hr. So for less than 30 min drive it's $85. You place a $170 deposit to secure your spot that is applied to final fee. They called when they arrived which was 5 min after schedule time. 3 guys arrived. I went over what to pack and they marked it. They packed all 25 boxes, a bed, coffee table, sofa, desk, 2 dressers, Peloton bike all packed up in 40 min. We recently moved with Bernard and cannot say enough great things about them! From the start, Lynn (owner) was incredibly responsive, the quoting process was made very easy with Krystian's help, and Jorge and his crew were INCREDIBLE for the two days of our move. We actually called Lynn after the loaded trucks left and requested the same crew to unload the next day, because they were so amazing. We had a basement full of heavy tools and they just rolled up their sleeves and got to it! They were also incredibly respectful of our young son who had to nap during the move out and move in, and everything made it in once piece. You know what sucks? break ups. You know what doesn't suck? Bernard Movers. After 7 years of living with my partner I was overwhelmed with having to find a new place to live, boxing everything up and trying to convince whatever little friends I have with beer and pizza to move me out of a 3rd floor walk-up. So like and adult decided to hire a moving company and found myself on Bernard movers BBB page. I filed out a quote request and within 30 minutes of sending it off I revived a phone call from Lynn and she walked me through all the info and times and before I knew it I was scheduled for 3 movers and a truck on a Monday morning. Adam, Alvaro and Alberto were scheduled to show up between 8am and 9am, they showed up in the alley at 8:45 and by 9:45 all my boxes and small furniture were on the truck and ready to go. We got to the other location, all the way across town, and they guys had me unloaded in less time than it took to load the truck!! If I ever need to move again these guys will be the only company I will call and I will probably request the same movers. Bernard Movers deserves more than 5 stars as the team goes above and beyond! We are repeat customers and highly recommend the professional and thoughtful team. Jora Valce and team blew us away with their speed and efficiency. They wrapped up furniture and loaded boxes at a speed 10x that of what I could do. In addition to their steadfast moving skills, the team was sweet with our toddler who was eager to help. proceed with caution. I think the crew we had ran a scam on us. if the team lead tells you you have bed bugs, ask for physical in-person proof. This hustle got the team a huge tip and a shorter day leaving us with a a ton of moving to do on our own and the professional exterminator we had check our new home after the move found no proof of bed bugs or bugs of any kind. I hired Bernard Movers after a friend had a great experience with them and I couldn't be happier I did. Moved from a 2 bedroom apartment in a high-rise in Chicago, IL to a house in Ann Arbor, MI. Juan and his team moved me from Alsip, IL to Holland, MI labor day weekend. From the moment they showed up (on time) they assured me they would take care of everything, and they did. They were cheery and worked steadily. They even did a quick fix of my broken wooden bed frame. Lynn also followed thru to make sure it was set up and scheduled. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this moving company. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!I was scheduled for a move in the morning at 8-9am. After many unanswered phone calls (over 20 during the day) I was finally able to reach someone who told me my move was being postponed to the afternoon. The crew had been mistakenly sent to a different job when they were supposed to be taking care of my move. There was no communication about this. UNACCEPTABLE. I had to turn in my keys and my move out inspection at 2pm, which I could not do. I was charge an extra week of rent by me previous landlord since I could not vacate my apartment at the time agreed upon. Bernard Movers took no responsibility for this. When I told the company I would not pay the full price for their very poor service, they threatened me to cancel my move. RUDE AND HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.I was told the movers were on their way and would be at my place between noon and 3pm. At 4pm, still nobody. I called many times and never got an answer. The movers arrived at 7pm (read 11 hours late). The move to my new place did not end until midnight which disturbed my new neighbors. I got complaints and the police called on me for the noise disturbance. The movers were INCONSIDERATE and started hammering the door at midnight to take it off. This whole experience was a NIGHTMARE!!!The moving company absolutely refused to charge me less for the trouble and did not care about it at all. I am a nice person, but I honestly do not have one nice thing to say about Bernard Movers. They might seem cheaper than other moving companies but you get what you pay for, namely crappy service. We used them in March 2022  to move from a high rise near downtown Chicago to a single family home near Downers Grove. Overall a great experience with fair prices. The movers were equally careful and efficient.This hourly rate was the lowest among several movers I checked ($130/hr for 3 movers for us). We were charged 5.5 hours for our moving 1Bed/1Den/1Bath unit, which included setup, loading, transport, and unloading into the rooms we designated. There was also a trucking fee of $162. We did 100% of our own packing. The movers disassembled furniture when necessary and reassembled it.The reason that I didn't give 5 stars is because the company has no online quote/billing/receipt system. I gave my inventory over the phone. Since they don't share any online info, there was initially a discrepancy on the time of the move (some emails quickly resolved this) and the trucking fee (quickly resolved at final billing).Overall would recommend this firm for moving (fair price, good service) as long as you don't need an online quote/billing system. We used Bernard Movers for a long distance move out of Chicago in April 2021 and had zero regrets!  They communicated well from the beginning and throughout the entire process.  The crew was on time, efficient, and respectful of our belongings.  They were also very good humored throughout the move. When I spoke to Lynn Bernard, I was specific to send me good guys, as I am a woman and don't want to be mansplained or bullied, she assured me that she only works with the best and reading their reviews, I believed her. When the guys arrived, they were very friendly. I told them I'm going to the new place, just a few blocks away to let you work. A couple of hours in, I received a call from one of the guys, telling me there was a huge problem, they had seen bed bugs. I told him, I was on my way back. I got there and the one who "saw" the bed bugs, showed me a picture on his phone and when I asked him to show me on the actual bed, he was not able to and simply responded: look, you have bed bugs, believe me, we don't have to do your move it's up to you, either we leave now or we simply leave the beds and sofas.I was surprised as I don't have bug bites, neither does my boyfriend or my younger child or any other family members who spent the night at my place. this guy explained that one can have bed bugs and never know about it because they only bite babies and elders. What was I going to do? argue and have them leave? every time someone hears bed bugs you know what it does! Fine. I went to Ace hardware, told the bug specialist what had happened and he too was surprised because it is public knowledge that if you have bed bugs you know it. I bought a gallon of product and plastics sheets, told him that's what the movers say and I don't really have a choice and I left. Of course the guys finished earlier because they didn't carry all the heavy furniture ( beds and sofas) but they did carry the pillows! I took the spray, a magnifying glass and a lamp torch and went back to my old place. The only thing is I did not see anything, I inspected every corner, every crease every hole. there was nothing. maybe some dust and ashes because I smoke in bed, but no sign of any small black beast. I called Lynn Bernard the following day, she of course covered for her guys. My advice to you Bernard company, when this happens, make sure its true and not just one of your employee who wants to finish work early for some reason.That night, I slept on the floor in my new condo and the following day, my son and his friend came to move the rest. I just moved cross country from Chicago to Arizona, and was more than a little nervous to have all of my belongings moved and out of my control. Other companies quoted me similar prices, but had terrible reviews and absurdly long pick-up or delivery windows. Bernard Movers sent someone to come check out my stuff, gave me a realistic quote, and then booked a pick-up date and gave me a delivery window of 2 days. When they came to load up, three men (Frank, Juan, and Jake) came to get everything and did it quickly and efficiently. Frank informed me that he and Juan would be making the trip to Arizona, and asked if I had a preference of delivery day. Along the way, Juan let me know that everything was safe, and even offered helpful tips when driving through the desert or areas of the road without places to stop for gas. Upon arrival, everything was accounted for with little to no damage (2 pieces of furniture had minor scratches, but nothing unfixable). Bernard Movers is an excellent moving company that made our long distance move in December, a stress-free breeze. The business impressed us from the first call we made to learn about their services, to beyond move-in day. Lynn explained everything in detail via phone, and Krystian gave a thorough walk-through - combined, we felt confident that we would be in good hands by moving forward. We opted for the direct delivery service, where the team picked up our items and drove them to our destination - which, unlike van lines, ensured that we would get our items delivered within two days. The best part of the experience, was working with, and getting to know, the movers themselves. On pickup day, a team of 4 worked quickly and carefully, and made sure we just got to relax during the process. I've moved many times - but this was the absolute first time I actually enjoyed the day! And the biggest shout out goes to Frank and Big Juan, who moved us out of Chicago, drove to New York with our belongings, checked in proactively along the way to give us peace of mind, and moved us in - setting things up with care in our new home. The way they worked blew us away! They're also incredibly kind, genuine, and funny - we so appreciated getting to spend the day with such phenomenal guys! They even checked in afterwards, to make sure we were all settled. We most recently used them to move from our condo to a new house in the suburbs and had the best experience with Big Juan, Anthony, Jeremy and Brian. Bernard movers did an amazing job helping with the move. They arrived early and although the service elevator in the building was still not able to be used, they got right to work and moved everything out so swiftly. They did just as an amazing job moving everything in and reassembling. They were all so helpful. I have turned to Bernard Movers three times and have always been happy with the service they provide. The first time was an emergency: my husband passed away suddenly and the property manager at his hair salon offered to waive the remaining rent on his lease if we could vacate the space in 5 days. I was at a loss of how we'd pull it off with funeral arrangements, etc., on our plate. She recommended Bernard Movers and it was a godsend. The crew were professional, efficient and very supportive. And the cost was very reasonable. I recently called upon Bernard to move us from a single family house to a 2-flat; my daughter on one floor and me on another...plus a storage locker. If I could give negative stars I would. Bernard movers was 3 hours late without contacting us letting us know any status. They came up with so many lies about why the all of sudden  couldn't move us . The moves had a lie than the people in they phone. the customer service was unpleasing, it was a undertone of radical discrimination. I can go on and on about how bad my experience was I wouldn't refer them to move a dog the way I got treated after they took my money and saying I have to wait until Monday when I paid for services I did not receive.
