HI, Teri, want to send you a quick note, thanking you for all you did for me and my "pups" - they are 3+ years now and I gotta tell you, they are beautiful, and very good. I never did have to "go to" any kind of training collars for them with the chickens, I just worked with them for hours and hours, watching, monitoring and rewarding them as you suggested. And, this is huge for me, when I take them out off leash or on leash, I can't tell you how many times people with or without dogs stop and tell me how beautifully behaved they are (and how they wish their dogs were so good!). That is a huge testament to you and your training - training the dogs AND me! We are also constantly amazed at how well they do in the house, even when we're eating (that training session was worth it all by itself). p.s. Of course, I go thru about $20 worth of treats every month! More...

Teri offers real life, practical techniques that are positive and reward based. She's available to answer questions outside of classroom hours and the classes are kept small so each dog gets individual attention. I recently completed the Well Mannered Dog I class with my dog Maggie. The changes I saw in my almost two year old lab were incredible! She is impulsive by nature and has calmed down so much. We learned to work together as a team and to trust one another.

Teri is patient and kind and thoughtful. She takes a stressful situation and makes it fun, or at least manageable if your dog is really struggling, like Maggie was in the beginning.

We approached Teri for help with behavior issues with our dog, Mona Lisa, who had been showing aggression towards other dogs. Over the course of a month, Teri worked with us and our dog to get the tools we need for training to reduce aggression. Mona Lisa is already much happier and more obedient. Teri is an amazing positive trainer. I have had the great pleasure of working with her for many years as a student, client and as a professional animal advocate. My personal believe is that every dog should have the appropriate puppy education and manners training. I can't think of a better trainer to have in this process than Teri. Teri's knowledge is exceptional as is her amazing ability with animals. I have seen her work wonders with dogs, especially those that did not have the best ground work in the beginning. She has a special gift in her ability to read body language in the animals along with the outstanding ability to help owners understand and work with their pets. Teri has always said to me that there is an angel in every pet, they just need the proper training and guidance from their human family to bring that out. I recently had the pleasure of meeting with Teri to assist me with Molly, a young dog that I had recently adopted that was having some behavior issues. I was incredibly impressed with Teri and her ability to provide me with the tools that I needed to help me manage Molly's behaviors. She was ready with ideas for the problems that I was having and immediately started working with Molly when I arrived. Within 30 minutes, she had Molly doing things that I would not have thought possible. She had a gentle and kind nature and her love of animals was evident. She showed me how to continue working with Molly and taught me how to train her effectively. She even took the time after the session to email me a full individualized training program that reviewed all that she taught me and provided me with resources to use moving forward. Personally, I do not know how I would have survived without Angels in the Making. My dog is large and weighs almost 60 pounds. I adopted Cocoa when she was 5 years old so she had already established some really bad habits (for example, yanking on the leash when walking and jumping all over strangers). With the help of Angles in the Making, Cocoa's behavior and demeanor has greatly improved. I recently had a neighbor over at my house who had last seen Cocoa prior to attending the Well Mannered Dog classes. My neighbor commented that Cocoa was "practically a different animal" and that "she was so well behaved".

Teri at Angels in the Making is very knowledgeable about dog behavior. If your dog is acting out or not listening, Teri can guide you on how to respond to your dog's behavior to help your dog become successful. For every skill, Teri provides detailed information to help you progress through the various skills at your dog's pace. When I adopted Boon, my then 6-year-old Pit Bull, in November of last year, I wanted to find a dog trainer who would uses totally positive, humane methods. My new vet recommended Teri Thomas and her business, Angels in the Making.

I wanted to start right with Boon, and I enrolled us in Teri's next "Your Well Mannered Dog 1" program. I say "us", because any good pet training program must first train the owner.

Boon responded very well to Teri's methods. After our first session, he knew what was in store whenever we arrived at Angels in the Making. He became excited, and led me straight to the classroom. The course was very well taught, and easily met my expectations. Teri's compassion and enthusiasm were always obvious to me.

Since attending the class, I have often asked Teri for advice on new behavioral issues and other concerns. She always has good, thoughtful, and free answers for me. That's going the extra mile.
