Alyssa Foster Photography

Alyssa Foster Photography was contracted by the mother of the groom for my daughter's wedding during the first part of October 2022. I am a semi-professional photographer, but it was decided that I needed to be part of the ceremony instead of shooting it. Instead, I footed the bill for this contract.
A female photographer (I don't remember her name) arrived at the church shortly before the wedding was to begin and introduced herself as the "second shooter". I thought, great, we get TWO photographers since she was not Alyssa. In the wedding photography world, a second shooter is an assistant to the main photographer. Today, that was not the case since Alyssa was way too busy doing something else to shoot this wedding (and reception) herself.
About three to four weeks went by until we were notified that the images were able to be viewed in an online gallery. Apparently, her "second (and only) shooter" has never heard of white balance. Many of the images shot at the church had a funny amber cast to them which I had to correct in a digital photo developing program before we could have them printed. Though my daughters dress was white the images that were shot at the church did not reflect that. Apparently, Alyssa's rates are for digital delivery and does not include any allowance for prints (which is fortunate since the white balance was off and had to be corrected).
Communication with Alyssa has also been spotty at best, almost all by email.
My review is based on the facts that Alyssa could not shoot this event herself, sent an assistant that needs to check the white balance on her camera at EVERY event, was difficult to communicate with at best, and charged rates that seem out of line for what was received.
I will not contract Alyssa Foster Photography for any future events. More...
