Activate Canine Dog Training

We recently had Alicia to help us with our pitty. Our boy wouldn’t “listen” , drag us down the road while trying to walk, would dart when he would see squirrels. He had no confidence with new environments, making him super anxious and uncomfortable. He also wasn’t crate trained. He now is crate trained, walks with out pulling, will “place” and stay until given commands, avoids distractions when out and about. I took Jack out to the vet today, and he was such a pleasure to take. He used to need picked up and carried into the vet. (And new environments for that matter) He strutted right in there, held himself in place while untethered to me while I paid the bill. I can’t say enough great things about Activate Canine and Alicia! We brought our Winston to her with no manners and some behavior issues and she totally transformed him and taught us how to be better pet parents! She is patient and knowledgeable and offered help to us for as long as we need it! She kept in touch with us the whole time our pup was gone, sent pics and videos of his progress! FB asks “What do you recommend about Activate Canine Dog Training?” The answer is EVERYTHING! Alicia is amazing with dogs and with us humans too. She not only trained our stubborn Huckleberry but she trained us as well. After a year of trying to brush off his behavior as, “he’s just being a puppy”, we knew we needed help. When she picked him up, he was loud, barked at us constantly for attention even though he rec’d a ton of it already, was a jerk to our other dogs, raced for the door when it was opened, wouldn’t come when called, pulled every direction when we walked him, etc. We now joke that he’s not our same dog. He is well mannered while not losing his sweet, goofy personality. She gave us the tools we needed to insure he stays well mannered and happy. Walking him is enjoyable instead of a chore. Activate Canine is the BEST decision we could have made for our Oliver and our family. Not only did Alicia and her whole staff go above and beyond before Oliver went into training but during his time with them and during the time she spent with us once he came home to make sure we understood how he was trained so that we could work with him to continue the hard work he learned. He came back a dog with manners and new skills. We learned we also need to be aware of learning those skills to help him be a well behaved and happy dog. We have already planned for his next training. She answered several questions I had while he was gone and kept in touch to let us know how he was doing. Cannot say enough great things about Activate Canine and Alicia!! She helped our dog, Clark, with his reactivity towards other dogs while on leash. She even kept him a few extra days because he was being stubborn and not quite ready for home. She sent picture and video updates during his time with her, which I appreciated! Alicia was always easy to get in touch with, and went the extra mile to make us feel comfortable with doing the commands with Clark. She did many home sessions with us to practice, and told us to reach out if we ever have any concerns—even if it’s a year from now! I highly recommend this company! We sent Raven to Alicia for the purpose of re-training several bad behaviors, and in hopes she would be able to safely come outside and be around our farm animals with us. She spent 3 weeks with Alicia and came home happy, obedient and well-adjusted. I got to see lots of videos and pictures and updates along the way. it is so great to walk Molly with golf carts going by and not having her pull your arm out of socket to get them. 85 lbs dog is a lot to control when she wants to go but now we have a new manageable dog. I didn't thing anyone could stop that aggression but Alesia did it. thanks again. More...

Sully came home today! I can’t say how impressed we are! He left us having no manners and not listening whatsoever. Came home a completely different dog. Alicia is super knowledgeable in training both Sully AND us 😆she spent time with us explaining and showing us all he has learned and teaching us how to continue instructing him on good behavior. Anchor just returned home from his training with Alicia…my husband and I are so amazed at the wonderful changes that have taken place! Alicia is wonderful with Raider. He is a very stubborn dog that did not like to be around ANYONE other than myself and my husband. You could not even walk him on a leash. But thanks to Alicia’s training, patience and love of dogs she brought Raider out of his shell and taught my stubborn German Shepherd some rules and manners. So we are dog lovers..We were lucky to find Alicia to help train our 2 dogs. First was my daughters puppy (husky/shepherd mix) who was showing signs at a very early age of fear leading to aggression with people and dogs, she was terrified. We knew we needed to help her but didn't have the skills. We did the board and train so missed her terribly for 2 weeks ! Of course we were afraid her personality would change , she wouldn't be her crazy self as we loved . We spoke to prior clients who highly praised Alicia and had the same thoughts we did and all told us not to worry! Alicia is amazing! Our pup returned to us calmer, more confident, same spunk, happier, trusting , obedient,she was given a foundation that we are so thankful. Second was my dog (husky/lab), already 4, was becoming worse while on our walks getting semi agro (only due to sensing my anxiety) when he saw other dogs or when other dogs would pass or if a deer in view would pull and almost pull me over (he is 90lbs). Yes my fault for using one of those extendable leashes where he was 15 ft in front of me. Not his fault, owner error!! Like most dogs, the dogs aren't the problem, the owner is and it takes a lot of work and I was guilty as charged . Anyways, He went to Alicia's Board and Train for training and behavior modification. He now walks by my side, is fine when we pass other dogs or if a squirrel crosses our path. He knows what to do/not do and i can say heal and he is by my side . I trust him and he trusts me! I have continued the training as consistently is key and Alicia has helped me understand how to use the ecollar correctly in the many situations I may encounter. This training program is amazing! We rescued an active and mischievous Fur baby that had several behaviors that needed to be corrected. From the consultation we felt confident this was the company for us. Alicia worked Darius right into shape! I am in awe of the things he has learned and am very excited to keep up his training! Activate Canine Dog Training has been a lifesaver for us! Alicia was able to take our wild, crazy, runaway dog and change him into a sweet, well-mannered dog that can now walk off-leash without us worrying. Alicia was also the first person we called to make sure our new puppy had the training to start off on the right foot! Not only did our dogs learn appropriate behavior, we as owners were educated on what their specific behaviors mean, allowing us to help guide them correctly.
