Booked a table for 9 on Tuesday for this Friday by telephone. When we arrived we said that we had booked a table and the staff said they had no record. After showing the manager their number in our phones log they had to admit there was an error on their part. We were shown to a booth to the right of the entrance door which was cramped and extremely uncomfortable. The staff were very attentive and looked after us and took our entree and drink requirements. When the main course arrived my wife ordered slow braised brisket with bbq sauce. The sauce was so spicy it was inedible. I tried it myself and I like spicy items and even I found that too hot. Surely bbq sauce is supposed to be tangy not very spicy hot. I had pan fried fish with curly chips and salad for my main course. The fish was excellent but what are these things on my plate. Certainly not the curly chips I have enjoyed and had in the in the past and enjoyed. They were extruded potato with a crumb coating on and were over cooked. My grandsons pizza was burnt and the majority of the party of 9 agreed the food was substandard. We had all looked forward to a meal at the Pig & Whistle as their food standards and service had always been good. But no more. Their standards have slipped and they need to up their game.
