stopped there for lunch today, my children had the kids burgers. my 1 and a half year old daughter had an allergic reaction to the Aoli in the burger as she has an egg allergy. no where on the menu did it disclose that there was Aoli sauce on the burger. and I was told I should of asked for it to be removed to which I said I was unaware there was sauce on the burger at all let alone Aoli as it wasn't on the menu description. she was unable to eat it and I was offered a replacement but it was already too late as her tongue and face was swelling up. no discount or nothing. just a poor apology. not happy at all. An amazing museum ! We were greeted warmly by a friendly team member who invited us in, then kindly gave us a two 4 one coffee voucher for the cafe. We spent 2 hours here viewing the absolutely enormous collection of vehicles. We could have spent a lot longer. I particularly enjoyed the designer public bathrooms, they are a must to view ! The exhibition was very well laid out with something to please every age. I loved the vintage furniture, carpets and the way they complemented the vehicles on display. There was no accessibility issues, parking was easy and I have no hesitation in recommending this as a must when in Invercargill. Thanks must be offered to the Richardson family for preserving the history and vehicles on display. More...

Although the atmosphere, setting and service was good we felt the pricing of the menu was excessive and quality of the cabinet food especially was well below par and left disappointed

We visited the museum as part of a “ number 8 tours “ tour group in February, had lunch and toured the awesome museum, anyone going to Invercargill should add this to their trip, it’s not just trucks , it’s one mans commitment to preserve kiwi history , peddle cars, farm machinery, wearable arts, incredible toilets ! ! Cars , especially Fords from day one to the late fifties, not to missed, then add on the motorbike museum and that finalises and awesome historical display of historic motorcycles , amazing displays both. As a car enthusiast and an ex trucker from the UK I have just spent an afternoon wandering around a great museum in Invercargill, Bill Richardson a local transport boss collected every type of car, truck, petrol pump and juke box he came across over 50 years, all beautifully restored and placed in a huge warehouse next to his business headquarters. .. Well worth a visit, allow 3 hours to do it properly... More...

A magical place! Such amazing machines. So good to see such a range of wonderful machinery restored to perfection. Thank you Bill for saving these amazing machines. Well worth a trip to Invercargill to see, but be sure to visit the motorcycle display downtown, and also the world’s best hardware store - which features another amazing collection of vehicles. Then grab a bite at the wonderful Batch cafe! More...

This place was truely amazing! It just kept on keeping on and just when I thought I’d seen everything another room full would appear. Also loved the black caps section. You gotta check out the decor in the loos. Quite quirky especially the ones by the restaurant. Be prepared to stay all day but there is also a restaurant which serves really tasty tucker. More...

Variety of vehicles, the spaciousness and the wonderful cafe. Children are catered for and everything can be viewed at leisure. Most importantly all the vehicles are under cover to protect them from damage and they are preserved as part of New Zealands heritage. We must preserve the past so that future generations can learn and plan for the future. More...
