What do you love most about your job?

The thing that I love most about my job is having the opportunity to help people prepare their Wills or Lasting Powers of Attorney. It gives me great satisfaction knowing that the people are able to get on with their lives safe in the knowledge that their Estate will pass in accordance with their wishes or that they have made arrangements in case they lose capacity or need assistance with their finances at a later date.

What inspired you to start your own business?

The thing that inspired me to start my own business was to offer my clients the opportunity to be able to prepare their Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney at a time that is convenient to them.

All too often during my employment in solicitors practices I had to advise clients that appointments were only available during normal office hours from Monday to Friday. I felt that by starting my own business I could remove these time restricting obstacles for a lot of people.

My ethic is that people should not be restricted by time and this can be achieved by simply arranging appointments to fit in with their busy schedules.

Why should our clients choose you?

Having a long-standing interest in the law and the knowledge as a former Technical Officer with Trading Standards that people don’t always get the Will they wanted led me to set up White Horse Wills. Basic Wills, Will Trusts, Lasting Powers of Attorney and Living Wills, known today as ‘advanced decision’ are all within my remit. My usual modus operandi embraces is direct meetings with clients - wherever they happen to live. I am happy to travel”. Additionally, I am also more than happy to provide my services via video link in these uncertain times.

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

I am able to offer my services remotely via Zoom, Microsoft Team and Skype. Additionally, I can offer the service over the telephone.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?

Wherever possible I carry out instructions remotely. With the recent change in legislation Wills can now be witnessed remotely which removes the need to visit my clients.

Unfortunately this is not the case with Lasting Powers of Attorney, where the witness and Certificate Provider must be present. When the need to sign the documentation arises all aspects of the Governments rules on social distancing are complied with, including the wearing of masks and use of hand sanitiser. The documents are signed outside where possible, with the witness and Certificate Provider 2 meters away from the donor.
